South Korea researchers are exploring "solar tree" concepts that elevate photovoltaic panels above ground on pole-like structures.
These systems aim to generate electricity while minimizing land disturbance and allowing vegetation to remain underneath.
Unlike traditional solar farms that require large continuous areas of land, solar trees can potentially be installed in parks, roadsides, parking areas, and other spaces where conventional solar installations may be impractical.
The concept reflects a growing effort to maximize renewable energy production while reducing environmental impact and preserving natural landscapes.
