I went to this amazing event called L’Aperitivo al Braciere a beautiful evening inside a castle courtyard with great food, wine, and atmosphere. You basically get your food and cook it over the fire such a fun and unique experience! 🔥🍷🏰

The entry is €8 per person, which includes entrance to the castle, a welcome drink, and polenta stick. Then you can choose more from the food & drink counter lots of delicious options, both savory and sweet, and plenty for vegetarians too.

They still have some dates available if anyone’s interested totally worth it!
👉 I’ll post the link in the first comment.

Most people go to Venice for the obvious reasons, the canals, the gondolas, the architecture.
I go for cicchetti and spritz. 🥂

Cicchetti are Venice’s version of Spanish tapas small bites served in local wine bars called bacari.
You’ll find everything from crostini with baccalà (salted cod) to fried seafood, meatballs, and marinated veggies. They’re meant to be shared (or not 😏) while standing at the bar with a drink in hand.

And speaking of drinks did you know the spritz was actually born in Venice? 🍊
The story goes back to the 1800s, when Austrian soldiers stationed in the Veneto region found the local wines too strong and started “spritzing” them with a splash of water (spritzen in German means “to spray”).
Over time, locals added bitters like Aperol or Select and the iconic Venetian spritz was born.

We went all in: Sekt spritz, Aperol spritz, and a delicious lineup of cicchetti to go with them.

Venice may be full of tourists, but the real magic happens in its bacari. ✨

Yesterday was one for the books! 🛵
I rented a Vespa from Rent Dolomiti in Vittorio Veneto and took off on the Prosecco Road with my friend a birthday gift experience for her 🎁🍾

Apparently, you need a “patentino” to ride a Vespa… which I somehow already have 😅 (no idea when that happened!).

First stop: the beautiful Leone Alato di San Marco, made from wood fallen during the Vaia storm 🌲🦁. Then a visit to Molino della Croda, a quick wine tasting, and lots of stunning views.

We passed through Valdobbiadene, the heart of Prosecco country 🥂 hills full of vineyards and pure magic.
Finished at the famous Osteria Senz’Oste a self-serve picnic spot where you grab wine, cheese, and cold cuts, leave your money, and enjoy one of the best views in Italy 🍷🧀
It was sooo cold 🥶 but between the laughs, the prosecco, and the views, it was unforgettable. 💛✨

Today we spent the afternoon exploring Villa Molin, a hidden gem just outside Padova.
Built in 1597 by Vincenzo Scamozzi, one of the great architects of the Venetian Renaissance, the villa is a masterpiece of harmony and proportion.
Scamozzi, a student of the Palladian style, designed elegant villas that blended classical beauty with functionality and Villa Molin is one of his finest works.
If you haven’t been, it’s highly recommended check their website for visiting days and times: www.villamolinpadova.com

After the visit, we stopped at a pasticceria (Italian pastry shop) for a sweet treat 🍰 (and savory 🍾) before heading to my mom’s fittingly, she lives on Via Scamozzi!

Of course, she greeted us with her iconic Rose del Deserto delicious crunchy cookies made with cornflakes and dusted with powdered sugar 🌸 She’s been baking them since I can remember, and they’re always paired with a glass of Prosecco 🥂

We didn’t leave empty-handed… we went home with a box full of Rose del Deserto and her homemade ragù, carefully portioned in little plastic cups to freeze a family tradition she’s kept for years. ❤️

It was one of those simple, perfect afternoons that remind you how much beauty there is in art, in family, and in traditions that taste like home. 🇮🇹✨

So much for saying I wasn’t going to post anymore 😅
It turns out I didn’t last long… but it really meant a lot hearing from so many of you who said you enjoy my posts 🧡 thank you!

Tonight, after dropping off the twins at their HOCO, we decided to stop by Wine Hub Vicenza a new spot for us and what a great surprise! 🍷✨

The atmosphere is warm and elegant, and the staff truly know their wine. We ordered Prosecco, but not your typical one the sommelier took his time explaining that this particular Prosecco is fermented in the bottle, not in big stainless steel tanks. It means fewer sulfites (I think!) and more complex, interesting flavors. Loved learning about it while tasting!

We paired it with a few snacks, all delicious and thoughtfully prepared the perfect combo for a relaxing evening.

And bonus: they also have a gourmet shop where you can buy artisan foods, cheeses, and local specialties to take home 🧀🍯🥖

If you’re around Vicenza and love good wine, great food, and a cozy vibe, I highly recommend checking out Wine Hub. A real gem! ✨

Hi everyone 💛

I just wanted to share a little update. I’ve decided to close this page, since I recently started a full-time job and won’t be able to keep up with posting as much as before.
To be honest, I’m also a bit tired of Facebook these days.

That said, I’m not deleting the page there are so many memories, photos, and posts here that I’d love to keep, and I hope you’ll still enjoy looking back at them whenever you like.

On another note, we recently bought a little rustico, that’s what we call an old countryside stone house here in Italy, often needing some love and restoration but with so much charm. My dream is for one day to turn it into a cozy B&B.
It’s a project close to my heart…”

Thank you all so much for following along until now.
This isn’t really a goodbye, just a turning of the page to a new chapter.

With gratitude,

Today’s lunch adventure took us to Posina, a little mountain town in the Vicenza province, tucked away in the beautiful Val Posina. The town is famous for its local potatoes, and of course, for the amazing gnocchi that every restaurant proudly serves. 🥔✨

We went to Trattoria I Tre Garofani, the spot everyone comes to for gnocchi. The fun part? You don’t just order one plate you pick 3 or 5 different sauces, and they bring everything out family-style so you can taste a bit of each.

The lineup of sauces is incredible: from rich duck ragù, creamy Philadelphia & walnuts, delicate butter & sage, savory smoked ricotta, bold Gorgonzola sauce and much more.
Every single one is delicious, and the gnocchi are so soft and melt-in-your-mouth that it’s impossible to choose a favorite.

Portions are generous (to say the least!) so we always end up way too full… and still taking gnocchi home with us. 😅🍽️

🍝 In Piazzola sul Brenta for the Festa dei Bigoli al Torcio: pasta made before your eyes with the traditional torchio, served with classic sauces like duck, ragù, and baccalà. A perfect mix of flavors, history, and culture framed by the grand Villa Contarini and the town’s famous antique market. ✨🇮🇹

👉 If you are nearby, the festival is still going on until Monday evening!

Did you know that in Italy there’s a special kind of sandwich called the tramezzino? 🥪✨

It’s not your typical deli sandwich, it’s made with soft, crustless white bread, cut into little triangles and filled with endless combinations: tuna and olive, prosciutto and artichoke, egg salad, prosciutto and mozzarella, or even something gourmet like truffle cream and mushrooms or shrimp with mayo.

Think of it as Italy’s answer to the British tea sandwich light, fluffy, and perfect for a snack with your coffee or aperitivo.
The name itself means “in-between”, because it’s the ideal bite between meals.

👉 Today I enjoyed mine with an Aperol Spritz, filled with radicchio, walnuts, and creamy Gorgonzola. Pure Italian bliss. 🇮🇹🍹

I had so much plum jam I cooked down last week that I decided to make a crostata for the kids to enjoy at breakfast or after school. ✨

I still don’t have all my kitchen utensils here yet (moving overseas is no joke 😅), so I had to improvise a bit.

What really makes the difference are the ingredients here in Italy: the butter, the flour, the eggs, even the ricotta. Everything has so much more flavor, and you can really taste it in this crostata.

This one has a layer of creamy ricotta on the bottom and my homemade plum jam spread generously on top, finished with the classic lattice crust. Rustic, simple, and delicious.

🍴 Recipe (for anyone who wants to try):
• Make a simple shortcrust pastry (flour, sugar, butter, eggs, pinch of salt). Chill at least 30 min, then roll out and line your tart pan.
• Mix fresh ricotta with a little sugar and a touch of lemon zest, then spread over the base.
• Spoon on your favorite jam (I used my homemade plum jam) in a thick layer.
• Add strips of pastry in a crisscross lattice on top.
• Bake at 180°C (350°F) until golden, about 35–40 minutes.

Best enjoyed with a coffee in the morning or as a sweet treat in the afternoon ☕🍰

✨ Did you know? ✨
In Italy, when you sit down at a restaurant you’ll often see a small extra charge on your bill called the coperto.

It’s not a tip, but a per-person cover charge that usually ranges from €1.50 to €3.00.
It covers things like the table setting (plates, glasses, silverware), linens, the bread and the condiments that arrives at the table. By law, it must be written on the menu though sometimes in small print!

💡 Fun fact: the tradition goes back to the Middle Ages, when travelers paid for the use of a seat at the table and shared items like bread and salt.

So if you see “coperto” on your bill, don’t worry, it’s completely normal and part of the Italian dining experience 🇮🇹🍷🍞.

🌿 Today’s little adventure 🌿
On the way to pick up my daughter from volleyball camp, we stumbled upon a hidden gem in the Treviso countryside Trattoria Dai Fruts.
Nestled between vineyards and olive trees, it felt like stepping into a postcard of Veneto.

We shared an antipasto, then I had comforting gnocchi agli spinaci, while my mom and son both went for lasagna alla bolognese (my son loved it so much he ordered it twice! 🤭). He even managed to save room for tiramisù, while I finished with a perfect espresso.

I also loved how they served my quartino di vino rosso a rustic quarter-liter of the house wine (vino della casa), simple, genuine, and just right.

All this, including water and wine, came to only €60 for three. Great food, warm atmosphere, and real trattoria soul.
If you ever find yourself near Paderno del Grappa, this place is worth the stop! 🍝🍷✨
