We tell ourselves, “I’m saving it for the kids.”
But have they actually said they want it? 😅
The dishes.
The furniture.
The childhood artwork.
The boxes of school papers.
The things we’ve carefully tucked away because maybe someday they’ll want them.
As a mom of four grown sons, I’m realizing more and more that what feels meaningful to me may not feel meaningful to them.
And that’s okay.
It doesn’t mean we have to get rid of everything.
But maybe instead of automatically saving something “for the kids,” we start asking:
Would they really want this… or am I having a hard time letting it go?
There’s a big difference.
And if they do want it? Great. Maybe it’s time for them to take it. 😉
Midlife is a good time to start having these conversations and making some of these decisions while they’re still ours to make.
What about you? Are you holding onto things because you think your kids will want them someday?
YES or NO? 👇🏻
