10 TIPS TO AVOID MISSING YOUR FLIGHT✈️🛫

1. ⏰ Be at the airport at least 4 hours before your flight
• International flights take time due to:
• Check-in
• Immigration
• Baggage screening
• Boarding
• It’s better to wait at the airport than to panic or be left behind.

2. 📄 Prepare all your travel documents the night before

Make sure the following are complete and ready:
• Valid passport (at least 6 months before expiration)
• E-ticket or printed ticket
• Seaman’s Book (for seafarers)
• Employment contract / Company letter
• OEC / Exit clearance (for OFWs)
• Vaccination card or travel health documents (if required)

3. 📱 Double-check your flight details
• Confirm your flight date, time, terminal, and airline
• Some airports (like NAIA) have multiple terminals, so make sure you’re going to the correct one

📌 According to Qatar Airways, the following models are prohibited:
• Anker Power Banks (Model: A1647 / A1652 / A1681 / A1689 / A1257) – Recalled in June 2025
• Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank – Recalled in June 2025
• Anker Power Banks (Model: A1642 / A1647 / A1652) – Recalled in October 2024

Kansai International Airport, built on an artificial island in Osaka Bay, was hailed as an engineering marvel when it opened in 1994 at a cost of over $20 billion. Designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes, it was constructed on soft seabed using massive steel seawalls.

However, the island is sinking far faster than expected. Engineers originally predicted a 5–6 meter settlement over its lifespan — yet it has already sunk over 12 meters in less than 30 years. The weight of the structure continues to compress the soft clay below, despite efforts to slow the process.

If the current rate continues, parts of the airport could be underwater by 2056, creating serious challenges for Japan’s aviation hub. Billions have already been spent reinforcing seawalls and elevating key structures, but Kansai remains a critical gateway for international travel and trade.
