Tsukioka Settei -月岡雪鼎

beautifully illustrates the autumn verse of court poet Fujiwara no Teika, featuring bush clover (hagi) and the first wild geese of the season.

While Tsukioka Settei is renowned for his sensual shunga (erotic art), I absolutely adore these more refined and elegant works of his as well. This is a piece I would love to introduce as Shogaya Yamazoe.
