Celebrating the completion of Portal
My first art teacher Barry John Raybould said that every time we finish a piece, we should stop and rest, and celebrate its completion

I found that quite inspiring.
That we can rest to recharge for what comes next, rather than keep cranking out art pieces to the point of exhaustion. I try to remember that every time I get anxious about how much artwork I have made.

Taking a bit of a summer break and doing something fun. Making a lace up vest from leftover denim scraps and things.
ちょっと夏休みの休暇を取って、大好きなソーイングの気分転換。

I’ve always been drawn to quiet things.

The way light changes throughout the day.
The way nature unfolds without hurry.
The way growth often happens beneath the surface long before anyone notices.

Purple Bloom grew out of those thoughts.

Working with diatomaceous earth stucco has taught me to simplify—to trust the material, to stop before adding too much, and to let light become part of the artwork itself.

Sometimes blooming isn’t about becoming more.
Sometimes it’s about becoming more fully yourself.

私は昔から、静かなものに心惹かれてきました。

一日の中で少しずつ変わっていく光。
急ぐことなく、自然がゆっくりと開いていく様子。
誰にも気づかれないうちに、表面の下で進んでいる成長。

Purple Bloom は、そんなことを思いながら生まれた作品です。

珪藻土で制作するようになってから、私は少しずつ、シンプルにすることを学んできました。
素材を信頼すること。
何かを足しすぎる前に手を止めること。
そして、光そのものを作品の一部として受け入れること。

花開くということは、
何かをもっと増やすことではなく、
本来の自分に、より深くなっていくことなのかもしれません。

Three pieces, a new home 🌿

Looking back at these pieces, I’m simply filled with gratitude.

Every artwork begins quietly in the studio, never knowing where it will end up. To know that someone connected with these enough to invite them into their everyday life is something I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my work, encouraged me, and found beauty in these textured, natural pieces.

It means more than you know.

この3作品を振り返ると、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいになります。

作品はいつも静かなアトリエから始まり、どこへ旅立つのかはわかりません。
そんな作品たちを見つけてくださり、日々の暮らしの中へ迎えていただけることは、私にとって本当に特別なことです。

New Beginnings — now on its way. 🌿

I’m delighted to share that New Beginnings has found its place on the wall of a condominium.

It’s always a joy when a piece finds a place to belong, but this one feels especially meaningful. The title New Beginnings seems to have arrived at just the right time—not only for the artwork, but as a gentle reminder that new chapters often unfold quietly, one step at a time.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my work and to those who make room for art to become part of everyday living.

このたび New Beginnings が、マンションの一室にレンタル作品として飾られることになりました。

作品が新しい居場所を見つけることは、いつも嬉しいことですが、この作品はタイトルの「New Beginnings（新しい始まり）」が、今このタイミングにぴったり重なったように感じています。

新しい一歩は、案外とても静かに、そして少しずつ始まるものなのかもしれません。

作品を支えてくださる皆さま、そして日々の暮らしの中にアートを迎えてくださることに、心より感謝しています。

Deep Reflection 2.0

The more I work with stucco, the more I realize how much it has shaped me as an artist.

Because it dries so quickly, there isn’t much time to endlessly adjust, analyze, or add another layer. At some point, I simply have to trust what is already there.

珪藻土で制作するようになってから、作品づくりだけでなく、自分自身も少しずつ変えられてきたように感じます。

珪藻土は乾くのが早いため、何度も手を加えたり、考え直したり、さらに何かを足したりする時間はあまりありません。

ある時点で、
「もう十分だよ」
と作品を信頼して手を止める必要があります。

もしかすると、「深く見つめること」も同じなのかもしれません。

答えを増やし続けることではなく、
すでにそこにある余白の中で、静かに休むこと。

Perhaps reflection is like that too.

Not always finding more answers, but learning to rest in the space that already exists.

Deep Reflection 1.1 & 1.2

A second look.

I’ve shared these pieces before, but I still find myself returning to them.

The color shifts with the light, the textures appear and disappear, and the lines seem to tell a slightly different story each time.

Perhaps that’s true of reflection too.

Sometimes we don’t see everything at first glance.

もう一度、見つめてみる。

以前にもご紹介した作品ですが、
私自身、何度も立ち止まって眺めたくなる作品です。

光によって色合いが変わり、
質感が現れたり消えたりして、
流れる線たちも、そのたびに少し違う物語を語っているように感じます。

きっと「深く見つめること」も同じなのかもしれません。

私たちは最初のひと目で、
すべてを見つけるわけではないのだから。
