global.kimu Hello! We're Kimustudio. The 'special designers' whom we work with, hold the innocence of a child.

Society sees them as 'developmentally disabled', but we introduce them as our imcoparable Special Designers.

[Kimu Story]

Though my legs are rugged,
despite my odd ears,
I have a dream.
Becoming the Hermes muse
is my only desire.

What kind of dreams do you have? Have you ever imagined being someone's muse or the mascot of something? If you add a spoonful of imagination, your repetitive dull daily life changes dramatically. Maybe the biggest force that changes daily lives starts from imagination.

Here is a rhino with unique rough legs and colorful ears. In this painting, the special designer from Kimu added a spoonful of imagination. The imagination of a rhino who wants to be the muse of Hermès, which is why the artwork was created using the vivid orange color symbolizing Hermès.

presents a cheerful and pop mood with rhythmic objects everywhere, drawn by special designers. This may be seen as an experimental artwork. But that's also why it offers the viewers to imagine and be inspired by it.

Even if the legs are rough or have different colored ears, why don't we get up the courage to imagine today, just like that became its own mascot of Hermès?

[Hello, Atelier!]

Special designer JW is always full of love and puts a smile on everyone's faces, even when they're feeling down for some reason. One day, JW's favorite music came out of the Atelier, where special designers were working on their drawings. JW was thrilled to hear that and got up to start dancing!

JW's portrait is also very unique. The nostrils he draws are especially interesting, which is how you can tell that he drew it. But JW's special talent doesn't end here. He also has a special ability to visualize the calendar in his head! So sometimes when we play a date-guessing game and someone asks, "What day is March 4th, 2000?" JW answers, "Saturday!" within a second. Then, he puts a proud smile on, as if he's saying, "I did well, right?" A adorable calendar genius, isn't he so loveable?

School, is it really open for everyone? Yes, but partially no. In the U.S., it is stipulated by law that disabled and non-disabled students take classes together. In the UK, 70 percent of autistic students go to school. In France, however, only 20 percent of autistic students attend school, and most are usually sent to boarding homes or hospitals. Experts say French psychoanalysis may have significantly impacted France's perception of developmental disorders as a mental illness that needs to be 'treated.'

French President Macron promised to improve this situation during his term. The commitment is to hire an additional 11,500 disabled professionals, increase the compacity of 6,000 disabled specialized facilities, create a disabled-specialized service center, and implement a budget of 50 million euros for disabled people.

Macron's promises to embrace more disabled students and give them an early opportunity to join society, we hope that the groundbreaking and substantial French commitments will be indeed kept!

Even without an unbrella
He's obviously british gentleman
His name is COQ-NI zebra

The weather in England is rough and capricious. Nevertheless, it was loved by many artists and popularly written and put on film. And here, the creation of Kimustudio's signature character, COQ-NI Zebra, was also inspired by England.

In , you can get a glimpse of the haughtiness of not using an umbrella even in the downpour, the elegance of not forgetting to slow down in the midst of hastiness, and the charming British sensibility.

is one of the works that best represent Kimustudio's colors. The simple patterns and color contrasts evoke a rich imagination and inspiration. This is probably why many fashionistas choose this work as their favorite.

Since Kimu's 'Classic Line' original drawing was done in 2008, and the first art signature using the original drawing was released in 2018, it is without a doubt, a loyal artwork that has waited 10 years.

is getting ready to be launched as an NFT this year, so please expect to see various aspects of the charming !

[Global Story]

There are people who need the precious feeling of being hugged warmly more than anyone else. People with developmental disabilities. Most people with autism are very sensitive to sound, light, and physical contact. It's because of the sensory integration disorder that 45-95% of them suffer from, requiring them to be hugged or pressure-stimulated to relieve their sensory impairment. The Deep Touch Pressure Stimulation that these items offer help people with developmental disability focus on their bodies.

Then, what are some of the items that can help with this important pressure stimulus? A 'Hug Chair' invented by French designer Alexia Audrein is one of them. The inside of the chair swells up and compresses the chest and legs, helping people with developmental disabilities calm down. There's also a 'Huggy Vest', an air-filled vest that conveys the feeling of being hugged, comforting those wearing it.

Today, items used for these purposes are constantly being invented and are attracting more media attention. Hopefully, these useful items that help the body and mind of the developmentally disabled are more widely commercialized in the future!

[Hello, Atelier!]

BH is a treasure-like designer of KIMU. He is definitely the professional among the professionals. When he's finished with his drawing, he always checks his work to make sure everything is drawn neatly.

BH is not only a professional artist but is also professional at expressing himself! When he has to wait because someone takes too much time, he generously says, "That's okay, things happen," and when a designer shares snacks with him, he shares his appreciation by saying, "Thank you."

One time, there was a design education curriculum where designers had to color a room with their own choice of colors and give it a name. Most designers simply name the rooms 'strawberry' or 'apple', while BH tells a whole story about the room he created. One of his stories goes like this, "The yellow light in this room is a passionate, wonderful light of growth that gives hope and courage."

BH, how can you be so perfect?

< Heaven >

Not harming each other,
but recognizing each other’s
differences
and giving a smile,
Perhaps, this is heaven.

A lioness, a tiger, and a pair of pheasants are present, but no tension or fear can be found in the atmosphere.
This scene of them enjoying the warm afternoon individually and together without preying on each other is like heaven lived 'in harmony.'

is one of the Kimu fans' favorite works. We've also received requests to frame the painting and the poem together, which could be seen as the request to enjoy the peace of heaven desperately desired through this artwork.

The production process of also reminds us of the 'collectively lived' heaven, because two artists' original paintings 'collectively created' this artwork. Kimustudio's unique design process allows many artists to complete one artwork together.

How was your day today? Did you have a peaceful day? May your days be like heaven, where you can exchange warm smiles without boundaries or prejudices.

[Hello, Atelier!]

Kimu's 'truthful princess' Special Designer, SY, sometimes surprises us with her straightforwardness. But most of the time, she makes us laugh with her witty and precise words.

When SY doesn't want to draw more, she often blankly stares at others' drawings. Nonetheless, when she hears the director say, "Shall we try a little more?" she always replies, "Okay, I'll do my best" or "Yes, I'll try my best." Anyone who hears her say this encounters the magical experience of strengthening one's will.

SY, who draws fairy tale-like drawings, just like a princess, thank you for the laughter and courage you give us!

[Global Story]

What country comes to mind when you think of 'citizens' – perhaps France? France has undoubtedly made great efforts for civil equality from early history! As a result, the sentiment toward welfare is also different.

Take disability welfare as an example, France provides individualized services for disabled people through an independent disability department. In addition, disability diagnosis, compensation, and salary support for the disabled are managed by a committee for the disabled, where one-third of the members are disabled and family members of a disabled! Isn't that incredible?

France does not directly use the word 'inclusion' by law, but emphasizes the value of inclusion and guarantees human rights through its welfare system. It can be assumed that their advanced welfare may be a result of these efforts to listen to the voices of the beneficiaries.

[Hello, Atelier!]

JW has uniquely charming hands, drawing pictures in distorted forms. As for a building, it is slightly drooping, and a cup is marginally tilted. But interestingly enough, this is exactly what his fellow designers find alluring about his works.

JW rarely speaks. He expresses his feelings with gestures; then this happened. One day, JW was staring—eyes sparkling and smiling innocently—at the snack sitting in front of him. Aware of it, one of our directors said, "JW, let's share this snack with everyone, once we're finished with our work, ok?" That's when he finally spoke, answering in a sullen voice, "Okay." This was the first time Kimu has ever heard his voice. JW's love for snacks, isn't it just adorable?

The 'what' and 'how' of designs are important. The same goes for you, you would reconsider buying a marvelous artwork if you realized the artist was mistreated during the process. In fact, you would probably boycott. On the other hand, what if you saw a wonderful piece of work and the designer who created it was a disabled 'special designer'? This art would be loved not only by you but also by many more.

The non-financial value of a company can be innovated through the employment of disabled people and loved by various stakeholders.
