No, this is not a museum 😉 This is the Hôtel du Palais in Biarritz, France.
A historic palace where the furniture, decoration, doors, staircases, and beautiful wall and ceiling ornaments preserve the atmosphere of another era.
The service is outstanding, the restaurants serve dream-worthy meals, and the view over the bay is simply breathtaking.
A dream stay for an interior designer. I feel incredibly lucky to discover this exceptional hotel, its interiors and its fascinating history. 🥰

There are places I have to see myself. Hotel du Palais in Biarritz is one of them. Apart from a sweet celebration of our 25th Anniversary this is also a study trip of the era of Napoleon III. The style is a smooth transformation from the Imperial (Empire) to the Haussmann style. This hotel is an amazing example of this period. Napoleon III built this villa to Eugenie to make her happy, being closer to her natal Spain.
My husband tough the same: bring me here and enjoy his peace while I am taking endless pictures on site. Happy wife, happy life! Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Werner! 🍾🥂🌸❤️

One day, I will have my own palazzo in Lecce.

I will sit in a little bar with Simone — the most famous writer in town, according to him — and listen to his stories as the afternoon melts into gold.

I will stop to speak with the beautiful lady sewing authentic accessories on the street, her hands moving like memory, tradition, and quiet poetry.

I will sit on the steps of the basilica and watch the tourists pass by, each of them carrying a different dream through the warm stone streets.

And then, just as I lift my head, a mysterious ray of sun will touch my shoulder — as if Lecce itself had recognised me.

Yes.
One day, it will be like that.🙏
