In the year 1952 the late Senussi Shamsa started importing fine fabrics from England and tailoring official uniforms for some Libyan institutions, he was very successful that by the year 1963 he was dressing all Libyan official institutions including the armed forces, the police force, the fire department and customs and immigration departments. Mr Shamsa also maintained some stores selling fine fabrics from England and Japan. After the year 1985 the demand for fabrics in Libya was declining due to the high supply of ready made clothes. In the year 1999 the son Ahmed Shamsa revived the company with a new vision to switch to ready made fabrics, he decided to enter the market of ready made home products. Through a perfect working relationship with VX SA in Greece who are a worldwide manufacturers and distributors of respectable French brand names such as Guy Laroche Paris and saint Clair Paris and lately Feel & Touch , SHAMSA TEX managed to expand their market share in the Libyan market. Nowadays SHAMSA TEX is planing to expand their operations in North Africa and the Middle East still through their long lasting relationship with VX SA Greece.
