Meet the artisans of Ait Moulay Ali.

Led by Fadma, this group carries forward a weaving heritage rooted in the Siroua region. Using Siroua wool dyed naturally with henna, they work in both flatweave and hand-knot techniques, including Tighonjjaj, a rare ancestral method passed from mother to daughter.

Today, only a few master weavers still preserve this tradition.

Our Voices of Morocco series continues with - a multidisciplinary designer and artist based in Marrakech. She grew up watching the women in her family make things with their hands. Her mother embroidered, her aunt made macramé, her cousin crocheted. That world never left her. Full story linked in bio.
