Crispy Homemade Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 10 pieces of chicken (5 drumsticks, 5 thighs with skin)
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup of milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
1. In a bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
2. In another bowl, beat eggs with milk to create an egg wash.
3. Dip each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, then in the egg wash, and back in the flour mixture, ensuring it's well coated.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Fry the chicken pieces in batches, skin-side down first, for about 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
6. Once cooked, place the fried chicken on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
