Some of my fondest childhood memories are story time I had in school. I still remember that feeling as a kid, how a story would completely transport me and help me visualise wonderful scenes in my mind. I loved the scent of books, the covers, the illustrations and my passion never dwindled, especially for picture books. I felt privileged to have the opportunity to buy kids books when my son was born and all those childhood feelings came rushing back when I’d read to him. And now, I felt it all over again, this time with all these little ClubCreatives gathered around.
When a younger girl accompanied her mom and her sister, I thought it was my opportunity to read again, little did I know that it would attract the attention of the others too ….and I thought- we’re never too old for story, are we? And just like I remembered the joy of reading to my little brother and him asking for one more and Henry asking for one more- so did these little ones.
With one condition - they keep on crocheting.
And really, my wholesome craving heart was full- and I think I sparked something in them too.
Now I’m thinking about the next book for the next lesson. Or maybe I should just do reading sessions as one parent suggested when she walked in and saw us huddled up. 📚📙
Crochet with , kids and story time
Feels a little old school, but oh so needed.
Thank you for capturing the moment.
