I am so happy that today we got to bring our baby home. This all started the day after thanksgiving when Aubrey noticed her eyes were a little yellow. Dawn took her to the ER that evening and the nightmare began. Originally they believed it was an issue related to her gallbladder. After going through dozens of blood tests, multiple ultrasounds, an MRCP test as well as a liver biopsy, we received the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (her body is attacking her liver). While there is no cure, the treatment plan is very promising and she has been recovering from this attack very well. I also can’t forget to mention . From the moment Aubrey was admitted, she said, “I’m not leaving her side till she gets out” and 19 days later, she never did, not once. I also want to sincerely thank all of our family and friends that were there and reached out. Also the family has been hugely supportive and it’s very humbling to receive so much love from everyone. While this chapter closes, there’s a long road ahead.
