Holidays are here!
A heartfelt thank you to all our Temecula Valley Art League - TVAL members for your continued patronage, and to our volunteers whose "super powers" help us carry the many tasks, duties, and hours of hard work needed to bring our programs to life. You truly are the soul of our organization.
Despite the busyness and the sometimes puzzling pace of the holidays, this season always brings me to a moment of personal reflection. My mind returns again and again to gratitude - the blessing of being alive and the joy of sharing what I love most: my art, my creative spirit, and my talent with our community. I have come to love every one of you, and I'm so grateful for your texts, emails, dinners, outings, field trips, and all the support you've shared over the years. From the funny moments to the 'adulting' conversations, your friendship, love, and encouragement mean the world to me. Every one of those memories is engraved in my heart and gives me strength and energy as we step into this exciting new chapter of TVAL 2026.
"Why do we devote ourselves to this labor of love?"
I've been asked this more than a few hundred times since I began serving as president.
Our art league is entirely volunteer-run. This means that the Board of Directors, Board of Membership, and all committees give their time and energy freely, without any payment or monetary compensation. We serve TVAL because we believe in the power of the arts to inspire, uplift, and transform lives. We believe that even the smallest act-no matter how microscopic-can make a meaningful difference for youth and adults alike. We believe in sharing our creativity with the community and that every piece of art we create carries a part of the human spirit, a story worth sharing with the world.
If you haven't yet had the chance to be part of one of our programs, we invite you to join us. Choose one-or as many as you like-committees or programs to support. Volunteering with a committee is more than just helping; it's a journey. You'll see what it takes to keep a nonprofit art organization thriving, experience the sparks of creativity and problem-solving, share in laughter and sometimes tears, and discover the deep camaraderie that makes our league truly special.
Every moment you give, every effort you share, helps us build a stronger arts community-and touches lives in ways you might never imagine.
I wish you all a beautiful season and good health in the coming year. I look forward to seeing the wonderful new artworks our talented members will create.
With Love and Care,
Ines Miller
President
