An early morning site visit brought us back to the original purpose of this social project: creating a better environment for the students of a local school through the refurbishment of their toilets.

Beyond improving the physical space, we wanted to bring in the gift of natural light — through different layers and openings — so the space could feel brighter, healthier and more welcoming without depending entirely on artificial lighting.

PAH RESIDENCE

The staircase is conceived as an atrium—serving not only as a connection between two levels, but also allowing natural light to pe*****te and illuminate the interior. As shown, both the upper and lower floors feature well-lit circulation areas that transition into more private, secluded spaces for family members or individuals, complemented by considered artificial lighting. A home, after all, should support both our daily routines and our mental well-being.

WIP - ZS House — A Terrace House Transformation Project

This home is shaped by a quiet sense of stillness.

The design explores layered spaces with a balanced depth, where each area connects seamlessly while retaining its own character.

Natural light is thoughtfully introduced, moving across walls and curves to reveal texture and form.

This interplay of light and shadow creates a gentle balance between brighter and more subdued spaces, resulting in a home that feels both open and quietly grounded.

Danny & Ann Residence

A pool courtyard house composed of low-lying, single-storey blocks spread across the site, topped with a pitched roof that shelters both the indoor spaces and a generous verandah along the poolside.

Chai Residence

Approved by the relevant building authority and currently at the tender stage, this private residence was designed in response to the client’s aspiration for a modern, contemporary and minimalist home.

The front façade presents a more introverted expression that is both composed and controlled, establishing privacy and a quiet street presence. In contrast, the house opens up along both sides generously in response to the site study to optimise natural light and environmental performance.

Dr Liew & Dr Tee Residence

WIP

The design of the open living–dining space began with the intent to introduce an inner enclosure that adds depth to the original rear walls. This intervention establishes a clear linear axis within a layout that was previously fragmented by corridors leading to the bedrooms and kitchen. It draws the eye forward toward a framed opening at the end of the space, where natural light is captured and brought into the interior.

A curved cove ceiling softens the enclosure and contrasts with the rectilinear side walls, forming a continuous surface that enhances the sense of depth while introducing a more intimate spatial quality within the open-plan living and dining area.
