The acoustic design and study of a multifunctional hall aimed to achieve a target reverberation time of 1.2 to 1.7 seconds. The room volume was 5323m³, and the initial reverberation time before any acoustic treatments was 6.02 seconds. Using simulation software such as ODEON Room Acoustics Software and AFMG Technologies GmbH, the following acoustic treatments were implemented:

Wall, Ceiling Treatments and Floor: The walls and ceiling were treated with acoustic panels and diffusers to reduce the overall reverberation time. The panels were placed in strategic locations to provide early reflections and improve speech intelligibility, while the diffusers were used to distribute sound evenly throughout the space.

After implementing these acoustic treatments, the reverberation time was significantly reduced, with a final measurement of 1.23 seconds. This result met the target range for a multifunctional hall and provided an optimal acoustic environment for a variety of events and activities.

I design with ODEON Room Acoustics Software, for comparing the results of simulations in an untreated and treated room, it is possible to visualize the difference in sound behavior and understand the effectiveness of various acoustic treatments.

In an untreated room, sound waves bounce off hard surfaces like walls, floors, and ceilings, causing echoes and reverberation. This can result in poor speech intelligibility and excessive noise levels.

In contrast, a treated room has been designed with materials and configurations that absorb, diffuse, or reflect sound waves in a controlled manner. This can significantly reduce noise levels and improve speech intelligibility.
