šø The Gratitude Shift šø
Life used to feel like an endless checklist forĀ Adesuwaāwake up, scroll, rush, repeat. But thenĀ one day she tried something new but simple: she started each morning writing down three things she was grateful for. The first day, it was her
Warm coffee, a cozy bed, and sunshine. š
Then she made it a habit to thank someone dailyāstarting with the cleaner in her office that takes it upon himself to take her bag to her office every morning. The guy lit up with a smile she hadnāt noticed before. It feltā¦good.
Even traffic became an opportunity. Instead of complaining, she focused on the blue sky, her favorite playlist, and the peace of those few minutes alone. Even the noise of the Lagos bus conductors calling out bus stops and passengers made her focused on the gift of hearing and sights š¶
Adesuwa started to set a reminder on her phone to pause and appreciate something mid-day, which sometimes is her job or her family or even a bright sunny day. and every night she replayed one positive moment before bed. Slowly, her life felt lighter and more joyful. She even started taking short walks in her estate to notice small beauties around her, like the flowers and the laughter of kids nearby.
With a gratitude reminder set on her phone, she began pausing during busy days to appreciate something, like a calm lunch or a funny conversation. At night, she reflected on one good thing from her day. Bit by bit, her mindset shifted. Stress didnāt vanish, but her joy grew, proving that gratitude really does change everything.
She found out it wasnāt just about ignoring stressāit was about finding joy hidden in the everyday. š±āØ
