When Estera Concepts started in December 2015, the mat memopad was among the products we introduced.

Almost 11 years later, we find ourselves looking at it again—not simply as a stationery piece, but as a part of our story.

A look back at where it all began... 🤎

The first Ogotun Mat Weaving Competition was more than an event—it was a celebration of culture, learning, and community.

These memories remind us that every young person who learned to weave, every artisan who taught, and every supporter who believed in this vision became part of preserving a heritage that deserves to endure.

We are forever grateful to FemiMoniOlu Foundation, Olori Omolade Oyebade, Mrs Grace Alo, Prince Feso Oyebade, Pastor Victor Afunlehin, Temitope Eyiyemi, Doyinsola Oreoluwa and everyone who ensured this was a success

At Estera Concepts, we believe preserving heritage goes beyond creating handcrafted pieces.

It also means preserving the stories, language, and traditions that give them meaning.

We recently came across this insightful article by Ebenezer Idowu Babatunde, which explores the often-misunderstood phrase "Ijesa Osun're" and beautifully explains its connection to eni-iran mat weaving, the rich cultural heritage shared by the people of Ogotun-Ekiti and Ipetu-Ijesa.
