Every shelf, curve and edge in this home was considered. A wall of built-in niches in the office gives special pieces a place to be seen. Upstairs in the TV room, soft light moves through linen curtains, and the staircase winds its way up to the bedrooms.

Swipe for a closer look at the craftsmanship: the rounded oak doorway, the quiet ceiling mouldings and the sculpted stone fireplace. Small details, made with care.

A home office tucked under the roofline of this canal house, with its own staircase in a typical Dutch way up to the top floor, overlooking the canal.

A leather topped desk anchors the room, paired with a vintage Jean Prouvé style chair and a sculptural table lamp by the window. Curved oak joinery wraps the corner behind it, holding a small kitchen counter in patterned stone.

A reeded wood door opens onto the stairwell, a sisal runner lining the steps.

Sushi Oodo, Amsterdam

Leave the street behind and let Suhi Oode slow you down.

The journey starts in the lounge, where Tiemen Harder's handmade light spreads out overhead like branches in bloom. Vintage pieces gather below, together with his ceramic and wood side table, while a folding screen by Agnieszka Owsiany quietly hides the cloakroom.

Step through the sculptural passage and the room opens up in height. Everything here turns towards the oak counter. Soft Japanese plaster, a warm teak floor and carefully aimed light set the stage, so all eyes stay on the chef.

Sushi Oodo, Amsterdam

The 1970s Italian designs by Rivadossi connect the spaces at Sushi Oodo. In the passage to the restrooms, a sculptural wall-hung cabinet and the solid wooden doors show how vintage and craftsmanship come together.

Their warm woodwork forms a counterpoint to the calm of the plaster, while a wooden grid ceiling and soft, carefully placed light carry the same attention to detail found at the counter. Even the smallest room is part of the journey.

Sushi Oodo, Amsterdam

At Sushi Oodo on the Utrechtsestraat, craftsmanship guided every decision, just as it is cherished in Japan. Handmade objects meet vintage pieces that have grown more beautiful with time, all composed with precision down to the smallest detail.

The restaurant room centres entirely on the solid oak counter, set on a base of terracotta tiles. Walls in Japanese plaster and a teak floor keep the palette calm and restrained. Look up, and the w**e room reveals itself behind an architectural louvred wall.

Lighting by Kreon is aimed with the same care the chef brings to his work, so his craft always remains the focal point.

Ibiza

Pine trees all around, a few pots of flowers, a lounger at the water's edge. The pool holds the sky and the trees in its dark green surface, still enough to mirror every cloud passing over.

A place to slow down, stay a little longer and watch the light fade over the hills.

Rough stone columns carry the pergola, with timber beams and a cane roof keeping the terrace cool. Wide stone steps run down towards the pool, with cushions laid out for long afternoons in the shade.

Morning starts on the stone steps, climbing through terraces of lavender and olive trees. Lunch is under the pergola, in the shade of timber and cane, with the pine hills all around. In the afternoon, the pool is where everyone ends up, cool and dark green against the warm stone.

A place to slow down, stay a little longer and watch the light fade over the hills.

A reeded glass door in a brushed steel frame opens onto the bathroom, veined stone lining the walls on either side.

A wood framed mirror multiplies down the hallway beyond, paired with round wall lights and a stone vanity top in the same warm veining.

Ribbed oak cabinetry below, and a glimpse of a deep amber tub in the corner, materials carried through from door to sink to bath.
