Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s presentation of Gift of Colour for Milan, a wonderful event organized by the and and Buccellato, .forward_ Forward at the Milano.

Gift of Colour is a project that we’re bringing with Past Forward from Amsterdam to Milan, one of the world’s fashion and design capitals.
The vision: to cultivate native dyeing plants in urban gardens in peripheral zones of Milan, and to create a sustainable textile production hub for fashion and design, where young, talented people from District 5 (Municipio 5) will be the protagonists.

The natural pigments are extracted from plants and even from vegetable waste from city markets. Yarns and fabrics will be sustainably dyed, and the young talents create capsule collections, together with students from Italian fashion and design schools, involved through (the Italian network of fashion/design schools).

Gift of Colour for Milan is a bridge between experimental agriculture, natural dyeing, fashion/design, sustainability and community.

Yesterday’s event brought together many ambitious, considerate and caring people, driven by the desire to change the meaning of fashion, design, and community. It’s wonderful to see this project taking shape, after several years of work with the City of Milan.

Gift of Colour will be held at Oasi Ca’ Granda, with the support of the City of Milan, local associations, Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda, and with .srl We hope to soon involve many other forward-thinking companies that believe in true sustainability.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday, and to for her presentation and for wearing so gracefully the dress made with fabrics from . And thank you to the musical artists .cami and who enhanced the evening with their performances and their extraordinary voices.

This week the Guernica de la Ecología travels to Madrid. Join us tomorrow April 8 at Real Jardín Botánico ( ) for an evening of lectures and a conversation around the themes the work carries, with inspiring speakers and the artwork itself as witness.

Guernica de la Ecología embodies a pamphlet for ecological justice and stems from the artist-activist practice of Claudy Jongstra.

We invited Angel Amurrio from Entheos agricultura biodinamica ( ), Jon Arcaraz Puntonet, professor of architecture at the University of Basque Country (.eus ) both - specialized in revitalizing agricultural practices, and fashion designer Marcos Luengo ( ). Together, we’ll discuss the importance regenerative thinking and explore the role the arts can play in a transition towards a more ecologically aware society. The conversation will be moderated by Christel Koolen, Director of Dimad (Madrid Designers Association )

Guernica de la Ecologia will serve as a discussion piece and example, just the way it was intended.

The art piece travels under the care of the Iona Stichting ( ); a foundation that forms a circle around the work, bringing together initiatives on biodiversity, social inclusion and craft wherever it lands.

We are proud to take part in the exhibition Sak-da: The Poetics of Decomposition by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea ( ) We were invited as part of the Future Materials Bank ( ) initiative of the Jan van Eyck Academy ( )

The exhibition highlights works that reveal the processes of decomposition or reimagine decomposition itself, grounded in ecological awareness. It explores both the historical context of decomposing art and the ontological shifts it entails, while also considering its contemporary significance in the face of today’s ecological crisis.

Furthermore, the exhibition addresses how these themes can be implemented in future museum practices for conservation: can today’s museum embrace works that aim to dissolve themselves in coexistence with non-human beings? Perhaps what we must now consider is not how to preserve more effectively, but how to decompose in a more regenerative and conscious way.

The creation of every individual piece for the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter ‘26 collection begins on our farm in Friesland. It always starts with the land, where ancient dye plants grow and our sheep graze. In a slow and respectful process the wool is hand-cleaned, carefully carded and dyed with pigments we cultivate ourselves. Colours and materials that come from the earth carry a depth and honesty that cannot be produced artificially.

Then our hands perform an act of artisanal transformation: using ancient techniques and with utmost respect for the material’s story, they ultimately move in sync with it. The best natural materials are thus turned into luxurious, contemporary and unique pieces.

With special thanks to Anneleen Reitsma () and Oscar Aliev ()

We are very proud to have contributed to the Fall/Winter ‘26 collection of Louis Vuitton. New forms, textures and colours have been developed during the last months of inspiring collaboration and intensive research. Our team of artisans have transformed ancient hand techniques into luxurious contemporary one-off textile art pieces to be combined with the new LV fashion designs. The rhythmic processes of making wool felt are grounded in cultural and agricultural knowledge and a great respect for planet and people. High quality is only reached allowing time, working together slowly using all senses to guide the hands.

Louis Vuitton has presented the Fall-Winter 2026 Collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, at the Cour Carrée du Louvre in Paris, on Tuesday, March 10th at 11:30am CET.

With special thanks to and

Opening 12 February | Día y Noche - Ritmos del alma
at Real Jardín Botánico, Madrid

The work of renowned Spanish fashion designer Marcos Luengo ( ) and Dutch artist-activist Claudy Jongstra ( ) come together in an exhibition among the plant life of Madrid's Real Jardín Botánico ( ).

Plants, like all life on earth, are affected and influenced by the rhythm of day and night and the cycle of the seasons. In a world that values efficiency and economic gain, Luengo and Jongstra approach their work with a deep respect for the time, knowledge, and intuition it takes to follow the cadence of the natural world.

From the lightest and brightest yellows, greens, and pinks to the deepest, darkest blues and blacks, Jongstra celebrates the limitless spectrum of dyes distilled from plants, many of which can be found in Madrid's historic botanical garden. But more than a celebration of colour, Jongstra's artworks address urgent cultural and ecological themes like biodiversity loss, revitalizing rural communities, and preserving natural heritage.

Committed to using high-quality natural and sustainable materials, Madrid-based Luengo and his team craft each design by hand, combining ancestral techniques with extensive research into artisanal processes layered with cultural and artistic richness.

Following his 2025 collaboration with Jongstra in València, Luengo will present a new collection of garments crafted with biodynamic textiles from LOADS Collection ( ), coloured with plant-based dyes by Studio Claudy Jongstra.

Presented in partnership with Villa del Arte ( ), the exhibition will also feature Jongstra's 'Nine' and 'Cosmic Cry' diptych artworks created for her 2020 exhibition at Museum De Lakenhal ( ), curated by Suzanne Oxenaar ( ).

Join Claudy Jongstra at Waltham Place ( ) for a 3-day workshop exploring the living colours of the British countryside from ecological, agricultural, and artistic perspectives.

Hands-on workshops in natural dyeing, mordanting, and painting with plant-based pigments will be enriched by your immersion in the historic gardens and organic-biodynamic farm that make up the biodiverse landscape at Waltham Place.

For more than 30 years, Claudy Jongstra has been a frontrunner in the creation of regenerative art and textile systems — collaborating with farmers and shepherds to promote biodiversity and habitat protection through her artworks, which give renewed value to cultivating natural dye plants and maintaining heritage sheep.

In collaboration with Andre Tranquilini and the Waltham Place team, this workshop invites you to form new connections between plant-based colours and the living landscapes they are a vital part of. Together, we’ll gather over farm-to-table meals, thoughtful craft, and meaningful communal experiences.
