Creative play is more fun with friends 🧔

Hipster Animals and I have been toying with the idea of her animals on my cups and today was the day to have a play!

Two prototypes done and dusted! Well as least partly. Still need to bisc and suss the glaze.

Joyful creative play with friends is therapeutic to say the least! What a delight to spend the afternoon with you, your sloth, and your flamingo Hipster Animals 🄳

Hipster sloth is really asking for a name…

Hopefully there’s some new faces out there with some delightful new perspectives and ideas for me on this one since it’s a trial reel!

Getting my people’s feedback in stories 🄳

I’ll be submitting the final piece to our studio members exhibit at the end of August if you want to see the final result!

šŸ‘ The Peach House officially has a wheel and the delightful Rosie brought a bottle of champagne to celebrate! That and I’m a year older…

Not ONLY did she bring champagne šŸ„‚ but she’s also loaned me her wheel for a few months while I decide what to get!

The ol peach house now has streaks of clay across the floor after our delightful inaugural throwing session (followed by a few lessons for our kids).

I’m so looking forward to the moments of joyful creative solitude and delightful community to come in the future! Especially as the weather starts to warm up.

For now, we will just live in the delightful warmth of the winter bonfire and get glazing on a few pots!

Tidying up the edges is a job for tomorrow!

I CANNOT WAIT to move my pottery stuff in!! We will reclaim a whole square foot from the dining room 😬

This floor won’t be perfect, but it’s pretty darn good for the budget we have!

Not to mention all the set up cost with the current studio build 🫠

Once this floor is in I might just have to use a food out table and a camping chair to hand build while my bank account recovers from the hit!

I mean worth it though for the creative joy. Hubby agrees. Full seal of approval!

Any other pickle ball fans out there??

Honestly, I’ve been in an exercise rut the last few years for a variety of reasons. So, I jumped right in when some friends suggested we do some pickleball lessons!

Joyful movement was at a bit of a shortage and pickleball seemed fun and learning something new was way more inviting with some friends!

I can now confidently say I’m a pickle ball lady and love my fabulous pickle pals! Since I have no advanced competitive ambitions, our weekly games hit the spot!

This project started simply out of creative fun to make a gift for my beautiful friends. I reckon they turned out pretty cool for a first go at it!

Lucky I made 8 and they all came out beautifully so I’ve got 5 extras on hand!

Unfortunately, with dreary winter upon us, I have no upcoming markets! But, if you’re interested in one of the 5 of these I have just pop me a DM!

Really I’d rather be decorating. Trudging through the practical to get the joyful pretty part!

These either didn’t sell over a long period of time or had significant imperfections that meant they weren’t usable or safe to sell.

So hard to smash them, but I’d rather make something else cool than they end up in the bin. I’ve been thinking of investing in a tiny hand held drill for projects like this!

Now that they are all smashed in a box I’ll probably just think about ideas for a while!
