Lynda Mowat - The Scrapbooking Photographer

Have you seen the latest catalogue yet? If you look closely on page 74, along with other embellishments, you’ll find this product, that I think is fabulous!
It’s called ‘Detailed Wreath Accents’. Product #168529. Included, are two sheets of assorted push out wreaths, with no colour added, leaving it open for your own creativity and colour scheme. We had a play with some, at our recent Koromatua workshop, and all the ladies favoured different techniques. So there was quite a collection by the end. Great for making a variety of Christmas cards, or using in an album….they’re the same, but different.

The wheel has chosen 'Handmade' as the Layout Library topic for September. I'm sure we all have things that we've made, that need to be documented in our albums, so let's share these other talents this month. There is an album in the Layout Library where you can share all your pages to provide future inspiration, and the hop will go live on Saturday 26th September.

The theme in August for the Layout Library was masculine pages - boys/men/male. I chose to document John hanging some very special pictures, after my trip to Africa. Everything about the photos was black and white, except for his blue and yellow t-shirt. So I removed all that colour too, for a more monochrome look. Here's the process video if you'd like to see how it came together: https://youtu.be/I9vWxkV6iU8?si=AUYG1jnKgjyABstS
You'll also find a link in the description to the playlist with a couple of other contributions to the theme. Enjoy!

Today marks the beginning of the next sale from Stampin’ Up! There are selected designer series paper sets, and selected colours of cardstock on special, including both the solid A4, and the 12 x 12 two tone cardstock.
The sale runs from now until 31/8, while stocks last. If you’re looking to top up your supplies, check out the savings on my website: https://lyndamowat.stampinup.net/

At our Koromatua workshop last week, we played with the stitched stocking suite. The traditional reds and greens of Christmas, and the coordinated products, made it easy to make a supply of Christmas embellishments. We can now use them in cards, or in our albums.
It always amazes me when this group gets together, how the ideas and creativity flow. Talented ladies!
You can check out the stitched stocking suite, and all its components over on my website. There’s a link in my bio, but for those on Facebook, here’s the direct link: https://lyndamowat.stampinup.net/

This months topic over at the Layout Library is 'This makes me smile'.
That covers just about every layout we do, lol, so an easy hop to combine with others, if you're able to.
Videos are set to go live on Saturday 25th - at whatever time works for you.
The playlist to add your videos to is:

When I was asked to do a dog photography workshop at an upcoming photography convention, I figured I could use an album of images and tips, while outside, with dogs, rather than be inside with a digital display. (Will be planning for fine weather 🤞).

So I’ve started putting the album together with this hop for Stamp and Stencil Savvy. My beautiful boy Jasper, gone but never forgotten, is my chosen cover page boy.
Check out the page, the layout, and how it’s easy to combine different stamp sets, in the process video. Just click on the link.

With the thought of introducing some more junk journalling (and some not so junk journalling) into the mix, I thought I’d share with you some things I’ve been collecting over the last couple of months. It’s building my stash of items to use in journals and things that can go into journals, so if you’re interested, you can take a look at the video on my YouTube channel.

Just click on the link below. Happy Crafting.

As a lover of handmade journals, I've realised over the past couple...

03/07/2026

While I've been busy with photography and family commitments over the last few months, I've been overthinking how to incorporate some junk journalling into this page.
But actually, it's easy....just start! lol.

I have loved scrapbooking, and preserving the family heritage, for decades! Now, thanks to the inspiration of some special people, I can add junk journalling to that list, and the benefit is upcycling a lot of what I would have just thrown away in the past.
Don't worry - I'm still scrapbooking. As I get older, those heritage photos are even more important.

If, like me, you've been waiting for the time, or inspiration to get those photos sorted, or start your journalling path, join me for 'JUMP BACK JULY', and get started. Scrapbooking, card making or Junk Journalling.
It all happens here!

Remember you are welcome to share anything you create, either here, in the Layout Library, or both!
