REMUERA RESIDENCE | Restoring spatial balance through quiet restraint.
In this Remuera property, the focus was to peel back temporal heaviness while honouring the home’s original architectural volume.
The Living Lounge
Form and materiality take centre stage. Structured around a central stone fireplace and flanked by dual arched alcoves, the room establishes a clean architectural axis. A curated palette of travertine, tactile neutral walls, and jewel-toned velvet furniture adds depth without visual noise.
The Dining Area
Anchored by a tiered crystal chandelier, the dining room balances historical scale with tailored modernism. A subtly veined marble hearth replaces the dark heritage fireplace, framed by brass accents, black-framed joinery, and rich blue velvet seating under softened natural light.
Both rooms share one design logic: establish the material and colour language first, then let every piece of furniture and fixture follow from it.
