We’ve filled it with blooms for our Sumner community to enjoy — take a little flower to keep, pass on to someone else, or simply stop for a photo.

And just to be clear: you absolutely do not need to tag us to take a bloom. They’re there to be enjoyed. 💕

I saw a post today from Flower Summit | Global Floriculture.
This is a conversation our team have almost every other day.
There seems to be a real disconnect between growers, auction, florists, and garden growers, roadside bunches. Everyone sees just one part of the journey, but very few see the whole picture.
People often think florists are overcharging. The reality is that the price of a bouquet reflects so much more than the flowers themselves. It includes sourcing quality blooms, transport, wastage, conditioning, skilled design, staff wages, rent, packaging, delivery, and the countless hours that go into creating something meaningful.
Every part of our industry deserves to make a fair living—from the grower nurturing the crop to the florist carefully crafting the final arrangement.
Perhaps instead of asking, "Why are flowers so expensive?" we should be asking, "What does it really take to get these flowers from the paddock to someone's hands?"
I'd love to see more open conversations across our industry. Understanding each other's challenges is how we build a stronger, more sustainable future for everyone.
