Did you know that a group of ladybirds is called a loveliness? A loveliness of ladybirds! How gorgeous is that?

I have a loveliness of ladybirds in my shop, all handcrafted by the wonderfully talented Kirsty Gardiner, who works her magic in her rural studio just outside of Masterton. I was gifted one of her ceramic critters years ago and have treasured it ever since. The perfect gift for a nature loving friend or family member 🦋🐞🪲

Sometimes the perfect cushion just doesn’t exist… so we make it! ✂️✨

I offer a bespoke cushion design and make service where we can choose the fabric, size, backing, piping and all those delicious little finishing details together.

My refreshed website has a new section “The Couturier” dedicated to custom cushions which explains all the choices you have and process of making your personalised cushion. There’s also a simple online form to help you get the process underway.

Another gem from English designer Becca Who 🦜🌱

Becca’s beautiful designs are digitally printed onto a sturdy furnishing velvet and feature an intricate mix of wildlife, curious creatures, and lush botanicals in rich jewel toned colour palettes.

These fabrics will stand up to family life and bring you many years of enjoyment. Yes they’re suitable for upholstery too!

I’ve got several of her collection books here in the shop and they’re definitely worth a flick through if you’re looking for a more contemporary decorative look.

I adore this emerald beauty from Orla Kiely with its large scale vertical leaf motif and unmistakable mid-century aesthetic.

It was the prefect cushion to throw in the mix with my vintage cushions for a fun, vintage-inspired shoot recently.

This stunning book is beautiful inside and out, the perfect coffee table addition! ✨

As the back cover says, “No one does pattern and colour like Anna Spiro” and I couldn’t agree more. I’ve admired Anna’s work for years and you’ll see why when you check out ‘A Life in Pattern’.

Anna is an Australian interior designer with a love of and inimitable skill with layering pattern and colour. Her spaces have a contemporary heritage feel full of energy, personality and vibrant colour.

is a small Auckland based social enterprise that works with the Penan Women Project in Borneo. Jacky who began this initiative taught on the island of Borneo and witnessed first-hand the shocking health and mistreatment of the semi-nomadic Penan tribe in Sarawak.

The destruction of the rainforest and planting of palm oil by large corporations and government entities have hugely impacted this indigenous community leaving them impoverished, starving, homeless and vulnerable.

So she decided to do something to help.

Each bag is handwoven with patience and love by talented Penan weavers. The patterns on the bags are etched in the memories of generations of women, passed down from mother to daughter, strengthening family bonds and nourishing pride in their craft.

Jacky returns 100% of profits to the semi-nomadic tribe and these funds go towards education, food, family, healthcare, child protection and more.

With endless uses from picnic companion, craft caddy, supermarket bag, laundromat helper, library tote or handbag — these sturdy baskets are gorgeous accessories with a purpose. They make a wonderful useful gift that will stand the test of time. Also available in lots of neutral colours that didn't make this photo lol. Grab yours before they disappear again! 💛
