Love seeing my garden through other peoples eyes. All I see is all the work that needs to be done, stuff I've forgotten or weeds weeds weeds. They see it from such a different perspective and it gives me some perspective too!

They are all gone! Hundreds of tubers have traveled all over the country. Thanks to all who ordered our Dahlia tubers - may they all grow you beautiful blooms! Now, on to perennial divisions and our spring cut flower perennial sale, and getting ready for the abundance (of flowers and weeds) that the spring brings.

I love spring. The new fresh, lush growth, the warm breezes, heady scents of spring blossoms. I even like torrential spring rain.

I just can never shake the feeling of being behind on all the time sensitive late winter jobs, that are so much easier before the growth begins. How dare those weeds grow so fast that you get whiplash!

I'm so excited to grow these beautiful Helebores. This year's inspiration and leaning further into growing perennials for cutting that suit our climate. Helleborus x hybrida Double hybrids. Thank you, Clifton Homestead Nursery they are gorgeous 😍 ❤️

You never know until you try! I don't tend to do flowers in winter as I generally work with only what I grow here at Maytrees and everything seems so bare and frozen at this time of year! But what do you know - there is plenty of textures to work with even in a Dunedin Winter. Truly seasonal flowers!
