This piece has been commissioned for the 2026 Youth Week event “Taringa whakarongo! Ki te reo o ngā taiohi!”
The Tree of Voices will be on display on 22nd May, from 12:00pm to 4:30pm, at the Western Community Centre, Nawton, Hamilton as part of "Te tangi o te Pipiwharauroa". During this time, our taiohi will have the opportunity to add a leaf and share their whakaaro—whether it be a whakataukī, their concerns, or ideas they wish to express to our community and its leaders.
This kaupapa has been created by taiohi, for taiohi in collaboration with Te Runanga O Kirikiriroa ensuring the voices of taiohi are seen, heard, and valued.
