Tash is determined to create a space that fosters the craft community, brings people and inspiration together and celebrates the amazing talents of our local (and international) yarn folk. This elder Millennial is EXTREMELY excited to announce our next Lights Up Knitting film is Baz Luhrmann's 1996 Romeo + Juliet πŸ₯Ή

Before Leo got weird, Claire Danes leaned into to ugly crying, Baz shared a vision of Verona that is bright and chaotic and delightfully camp.

The soundtrack still cranks and the costume design is on point - join us for an evening of star cross'd lovers and maybe a bit of knitting.

At Petone, Wednesday 15 July, film starts at 6pm.

As always there will be spot prizes and a treat with your ticket.

There's a few events coming up in which we celebrate our rainbow community this month 🌈

First up is tonight, Wednesday 3 June:
7pm - 8pm - Submission writing party, primarily to submit for the definition of woman and man amendment, but also for a range of other government bills out for consultation

Sunday 14 June:
12pm - 2 - Q***r Craft Club - all welcome, free to attend session. BYO craft, we provide the snacks

Did you know that every Wednesday we run a Social Stitching session?

We're pretty rubbish at telling you about it, but it does happen every week! It's free to come along, enjoy our coffee and biscuits and hang out with whatever project you fancy.

It's a great time to ask for help, too. Jess is on hand for knitting trouble-shooting and loves the company.

It's open to all crafts and abilities - knitting. crochet, sewing, embroidery, are all welcome.

Don't have a project? Help sew together our hexipuff blanket or find something in our community shelf to play with.

It is Spinning Sunday this weekend - join us on Sunday 12pm - 2pm for a social spin.

BYO wheel or spindle, this is a lovely relaxing couple of hours to work on whatever spin you have on the go - or start a new one.

Spinning Sunday isn't a teaching time we are always happy to help with trouble-shooting wheel or spin issues.

As with all our social sessions, it's free!

Another reel?! New DK yarn to add to your options, and a top tip for beginners.

Yes I am permanently congested (thanks hayfever) and need to work on my video editing skills.

Today's sweater is Diamantine by with short sleeves, knit in Rowan cotton cashmere which I wouldn't recommend for a garment tbh - you can see it stretches out a lot. I still love the pattern thought so may knit another one.
