Quick little upgrade update 🔥

I’m switching my fire door and airflow handles from pine over to solid acacia hardwood. It’s a tougher, more durable timber that’ll handle heat and wear a lot better over time.

You’ll also notice the colour change — the pine was a lighter, pale wood, while the acacia has a richer, deeper reddish-brown tone that gives it a more solid, finished look.

Always looking for ways to improve the quality and finish of what I’m building 🤙

🔥 Benjineering Wood-Fired Hot Water Cylinders 🔥

About a year ago I built a couple of 150L stainless steel hot water cylinders powered by a 6–8kW wood fire. Each unit is mains pressure and fully equipped with safety features — relief valves, rupture disc, temperature gauge, bleed tap, and all the proper plumbing fittings.

One went into a custom-built shower unit, and the other was installed in a customer’s batch where it now provides endless hot water and keeps the place warm — running beautifully and built to last.

Not something I plan to produce in large numbers, but awesome to look back on a project that worked exactly as intended.

But I do have x2 left of the smaller 65L cylinders, 1 is low pressure and the other is mains pressure so if your after something like it get in contact as you can’t find these anywhere, and I won’t be producing these often or at all anymore!
