Hello and Welcome
My name is Carol, and I wanted to share a little about myself for those who are new to the
group. I’ve always considered myself creative rather than artistic—someone who enjoys making
with their hands and learning new techniques. Like many of you, my journey started early:
knitting with my mother, cross stitch from my sister, stamping and cardmaking with friends
when my children
were young, and then on to scrapbooking. A couple of years ago, I decided to learn crochet, which opened the door to embroidery and quilting. Then a friend invited me to a cartonnage class—box making using fabric and
cardboard—and I was hooked. It brought together so many of the skills I’d picked up from
other hobbies, and, yes… it’s responsible for my impressive fabric stash! I’m
offering cartonnage workshops and classes for like-minded people—whether you want:
A welcoming space to work on a project,
Some friendly guidance,
Or simply good company and conversation. Bring along any cartonnage project you're working on—or even one that’s been tucked away waiting for a restart. We can share ideas, solve design challenges, and maybe even help make your dream box (like the much-commented-on DMC box) a reality.
