Gordon and I had a lovely time preparing, packing and setting up our first craft store at our local Creative Fibre Fun Day. I specially enjoyed meeting and talking to woolcrafters from other nearby towns and our own club. Many had brought their spinning wheels, crochet and knitting. I had lots of questions and comments about the "ye olde" shepherds smock I wore and made 40 years ago! The pegloom weaving also attracted interest. Gordon had also made one from rimu for sale.

We were very well supported and it was a lovely time of enthusiastic talk about wool and sheep! We came home quite a few bags of wool lighter!

There were several other very tempting stores there too. I bought some beautiful hancrafted buttons from Bunny Creates. Contact Angela McDowell AngieMollyMac@ hotmail.com.
Creative Fibre Rotorua once again put on a well- organized day with delicious eats and a large number of lovely raffles, which were greatly appreciated.

I had a lovely time starting another peg loom rug. I used 3 bags from our Summer shearing. The three colours are from Little Star(Black- Coopworth Corriedale cross), Stockings- (multi- coloured Arapawa), Beauty - white Coopworth). I always enjoy learning something new from the different raw wool I handle. The Arapawa wool is the most pliable and easy to handle for this project.

The hand towels are all hemmed and tidy!
I have been invited by our local Creative Fibre group to run a stall at their Fun Day, so I am getting a few things ready. The date is 6 June, 10 am to 3 pm at the Bridge Club, Rotorua. Behind Hunt Park, access off Tarawera Rd, just left after the Good Eastern and shops, on the cul de sac roundabout that also has the Dutch Club and the Vintage Car Club. Lots of fibre fun, raffles and spot prizes as well as stalls.

I finished my 4 shaft weaving today and took it off the loom. I still need to finish off the hand towels by hemming, washing and pressing. The photo shows the third one where I just randomly tried out different twill patterns! This is my first project on a multi shaft loom. I am looking forward to doing a wool one next!

I surprised myself and got my knitting finished and done really quickly! I also quickly spun more wool when it ran out.

I am very happy with how the wool I blended to spin is knitting up. This is the sleeve of an Aran Pattern I am knitting for our first grandchild. It feels nice and soft too! Ideal for Winter!

If you would like to try spinning wool in different colour lengths please pm me. I am happy to make up bags of multiple colours at $6 per 100g. I found it was an interesting and quick way to spin. I think seeing the colours change onthe bobbin was very motivating.

We thought we were through the Fly Strike season, when the latest warm, wet spell arrived. My husband Gordon was a good shepherd all week-end, spraying the flock, de-worming them and clipping and treating feet. They are all comfortable and back in pastures green now!

I took this photo of a beautiful hand crocheted large sized work of Psalm 23. Every letter and word is clear and easy to read, and the sheep and shepherd are exquisite. It was locally made. The dedication in the making and the words and pictures are uplifting in our current times. Sorry about the reflections!

I decided to spin a ball of wool in variegated colours. I picked wool colours and split them in lengths shown. I split the rolags lengthwise to spin the colours one after the other in an arranged order. It was fun to do and see how the colours worked together!
