Busy today in my soap room... I sold out at the market for my Kawakawa Skin Balm so needed to make more. Got a request for one without fragrance so that it can be used on babies. So, I did. This balm has only the kawakawa infused olive oil with beeswax.
Then decided to branch out with other essential oil additives. So I now have three choices. Manuka, Patchouli or Lavender.
Manuka Essential oil is said to have mild antiseptic and antifungal qualities and being good for the skin.
Patchouli is said to aid tissue regeneration in regrowth of skin cells and scars. Cools inflamed skin and helps rough, cracked skin, sores and wounds. It may also be beneficial in acne, eczema, fungal infections and scalp disorders.
Lavender is said to not only have great calming effects, but can also calm irritated skin. If skin is dry and it itchy, lavender oil may help with that irritated skin.
Then, of course, there is the wonderful kawakawa infused oil. Kawakawa Balm has shown to be an effective and natural way of relieving eczema symptoms, as the strong anti-inflammatory properties can reduce itching and pain. Kawakawa also contains a plant agent called myristicin which actually reduces anti-inflammation markers, like nitric oxide, in your skin cells.
