Moomin’s Day is an annual global celebration held on August 9th to honour the birthday of Tove Jansson, the acclaimed Finnish author and illustrator who created the Moomins. First established in 2004 to mark the 60th anniversary of her classic stories, the day celebrates the core themes of the Moomin universe; inclusivity, love of nature, adventure, and a deep sense of belonging.
