HAPPY 6TH YEAR, JOYWITHART 🎉✏️
Expressive long post ahead, in hopes of inspiring the youth.

🧡 𝘾𝘼𝙍𝙀𝙁𝙐𝙇 𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙒𝙄𝙎𝙃 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝘾𝙊𝙕 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙅𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝙈𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏 𝙂𝙀𝙏 𝙄𝙏. Twas Grade 1-3, during classes and exchanging of autographs with classmates, there was this question: What is your ambition? I always wrote that answer because I thought artist ang English sa artista!!! Hahahaha But yep, there was I; Best in Creative A

rts, Crafts, Penmanship consistently since Kinder and throughout my elementary years — but I did not mind all those things before.

🧡 𝙉𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍 𝙐𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍 𝙊𝙁 𝙏𝙍𝙔 𝙏𝙍𝙔 𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙂. It was May of 2015 when my Sining Kambayoka theater friends and I tried to draw. Try; but then I figured nga 'Hmm medyo nakuha baya.' I thought to myself that I have a chance. So that same year, I saved money so I could buy graphite pencils (30php each at that time), practiced and also followed many artists. I did not know that was the start of many beautiful works of art 🥺 So for you guys out there who want to try something, do it! Not later or tomorrow, but do it now! 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙧𝙮.

🧡 𝘽𝙀𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙀 𝘽𝙀𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙒𝙄𝙇𝙇 𝘼𝙏𝙏𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙏 𝘽𝙀𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙍. I slacked off during 2015-2018. Maybe 3-6 drawings per year? Somehow I regret the wasted time, maybe I would've been so good with those 3 years. 2019 came and I really pushed myself to draw more. At first it was just for fun, also for extra income. Later on, I realized that doing art gives me joy and fills my being. The satisfaction I get every time I finish another piece is what I am after. I then tried to venture other media; colored pencil drawings, calligraphy using pens and brushes, watercolor paintings, and recently acrylic painting. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. Practice better to attract better.

🧡 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙏𝘼𝙇𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙄𝙎 𝙂𝙊𝘿'𝙎 𝙂𝙄𝙁𝙏 𝙏𝙊 𝙔𝙊𝙐. 𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝘿𝙊 𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃 𝙄𝙏 𝙄𝙎 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙂𝙄𝙁𝙏 𝙏𝙊 𝙃𝙄𝙈. This is the phrase I always remind myself of especially during times I feel like stopping from doing art. 'That is your gift, maximize that!', I tell myself. Art fuels me and my being thirsts when I don't do art. The lingaw lingaw lang turned to passion. Everytime the receiver receives the art work, "Thank you Dar lipay kaayo sya." "Ganahan kaayo sya. Next time na pud." makes me happy. Another one is seeing and the feeling of having my works in other people's home; feels like part of me is with them. Now, I have come to realize that I wanted this to be more than just making art for hobby and money; this would be my act or way of ministering or spreading His words and give love, inspiration and good messages to my fellow. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘴𝘰𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘥, 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴, 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘮. (𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 3:17)

There have been so many struggles that I don't want to mention. Just because everything looks fine doesn't mean I haven't gone through struggles. All in all, this journey is a very fun, makaproud but humbling experience. All glory and praises to God! Thank you to all who trusted me and those who continue to do so — thank you! I am so far from being the best (and I don't aim to) but I wish to have continuous improvement. I am so grateful 🤎🙏🏼

Dear Diary,
End of April and May had been really tough. Learning bad things that have been done to some people you care and especially love made me angry. "Unfair" is what I have concluded for those people who have been hurt. And then from there, numb and indifference followed. This painting commission came and then I was reminded of the important matters, hope, healing, promises and the eternal life that we look forward to.

There's a lot more work to do. I need to have a whole lot of faith and strength to endure to keep going. I'm just grateful to be reminded by the thing that I also love doing 🩵
