Happy International Cabin Crew Day to my brave soldiers in the sky ✈️♥️
I can’t believe I survived my first year.
One year of being away from home.
One year of missing birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings.
One year of celebrating milestones alone.
One year of wiping my own tears and telling myself, “You got this.”
People often see the destinations, the layovers, the photos, the smiles, and the glamour. But what they don’t see are the sacrifices behind the uniform.
They don’t see the homesickness that hits in the middle of the night in a country far away from home. They don’t see the exhaustion after long flights, the missed meals, the sleepless nights, and the moments when all you want is a hug from the people you love.
Cabin crew is more than serving meals and traveling the world.
We are the calm in someone’s panic.
We are the smile that comforts a nervous flyer.
We are the helping hand for a mother traveling alone with her child.
We are the familiar face for someone flying home after a loss.
We are there for people who are excited, scared, lonely, heartbroken, grieving, and hopeful.
Every flight carries hundreds of stories, and somehow, for a few hours, we become part of them.
This past year has not been easy. There were days when I questioned myself. Days when I felt lonely. Days when I missed home so much it hurt. But there were also days that reminded me why I chose this path.
The little thank-yous from passengers.
The friendships formed at 35,000 feet.
The sunsets above the clouds.
The feeling of safely bringing people to the ones they love.
To my fellow cabin crew, I see your sacrifices.
I see the birthdays you missed.
The holidays you spent working.
The tears you cried in hotel rooms.
The strength it takes to leave home again and again.
Thank you for carrying so much grace, kindness, and courage in a job that demands your heart every single day.
And to my younger self who dreamed of wearing these wings, we made it. It wasn’t always beautiful, and it certainly wasn’t easy, but we made it.
One year down, many more skies to conquer. ✈️
To all cabin crew around the world, thank you for being the light, comfort, and safety that people find above the clouds.
Happy International Cabin Crew Day. 🫡✈️
