🌶️ Korean Spicy Chicken — 600g
Chicken:
* 600g chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
* 1 tbsp soy sauce
* 1 tbsp rice wine or cooking wine
* 1 tsp sesame oil
* ½ tsp black pepper
Korean spicy sauce:
* 2 tbsp Gochujang (Korean red chilli paste)
* 1 tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chilli flakes) — optional for extra heat
* 1½ tbsp soy sauce
* 1½ tbsp honey or brown sugar
* 1 tbsp ketchup
* 1 tbsp minced garlic
* 1 tsp grated ginger
* 1 tbsp sesame oil
* 2 tbsp water
For finishing:
* Sesame seeds
* Sliced spring onions
* Optional: sliced onions or bell peppers
🍳 How to cook
1. Marinate chicken with soy sauce, cooking wine, sesame oil and pepper for 15–30 minutes.
2. Mix all the spicy sauce ingredients in a bowl.
3. Heat a little oil in a pan. Fry the chicken over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through.
4. Add onions or bell peppers if using and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
5. Lower the heat and pour in the Korean sauce.
6. Toss everything together for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce becomes thick and glossy and coats the chicken beautifully.
7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onions.
🍚 Best served hot over steamed rice, with kimchi on the side
