We suffered another loss today. My partner found one of the kittens we've been fostering for the past 3 months unresponsive at their cat villa.
She wasn't given a name to avoid attachment but despite that, what happened still hurt. She is part of a Pawtenean litter from Ateneo Animal Management and Nurturing Network. Her litter didn't have a great start in life, but we gave them the best care possible in their last days. Out of 6 kittens, only 2 survived until today. This kitten, in particular, had progressively became blind due to an infection the litter suffered from, yet she was growing steadily alongside her surviving sibling. Her sudden loss came as a shock, especially since they were scheduled for a routine vet visit today.
Please help us ensure that our last surviving kitten makes it through this sensitive juvenile phase.
This is the bittersweet reality of fostering. Just like what they say, "grief is just love with no place to go." But our love for this dear kitten will have a place to go, it will extend to the current and future fosters we care for.
