Reading this post is both painful and humbling. It speaks of a student who gave everything—time, effort, passion, and heart—yet was left feeling unheard, unprotected, and invalidated. As a future educator, it urges me to reflect not only on institutional practices, but on the kind of teacher I hope to become.
This reminds me that teaching goes beyond academic excellence; it is built on trust, care, and ethical responsibility. The Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers emphasizes integrity and the protection of student confidentiality. When personal struggles are shared in confidence and later exposed without consent, the damage extends beyond academics—it breaks trust and deeply affects a learner’s well-being.
The Code also highlights the importance of fairness and objectivity. When students perceive bias or unjust decisions, the harm is not limited to grades; it impacts motivation, mental health, and self-worth. No learner should ever feel reduced to a number or labeled as “lang.”
This post also sheds light on the often unseen emotional and psychological burden students carry. Academic rigor should challenge and inspire, not exhaust or break. Discipline and standards must guide growth while preserving dignity.
This is not merely an expression of anger, but a reminder of what happens when ethical responsibilities are overlooked. As a future educator, I carry this with me—to listen with empathy, act with fairness, protect trust, and always remember that behind every grade is a human being deserving of respect and compassion.
