Kaiseijin, the Crimson Inkblade
In the waning days of the Sengai Dynasty, coastal lands were devastated not just by war, but by the greed of lords who poisoned the seas to cripple their enemies. Amid this destruction, Hoshirō, a humble samurai devoted to the ocean rather than any master, made a final stand to protect his dying village. In a desperate act of penance, he dove into the corrupted bay and encountered the ancient, chained kraken god Izu-no-Tako. Recognizing Hoshirō’s pure intent, the god formed a pact with him—not of power, but of guardianship. Transformed into Kaiseijin, the Crimson Inkblade, Hoshirō rose reborn as a mythical protector of the sea, no longer serving man but the ocean itself, wandering the shores as both a warning and a savior.
