Head from my new series: ancient memories in stone!!
So pleased with my new piece just out of the kiln-
My new series is going to consist of both sculpted decorative pieces and utilitarian pieces. All built and glazed, carefully keeping in mind it's functionality. I don't see why art needs to be relegated to an isolated viewers realm... it should be used to give pleasure while we move around our space on a daily basis.

Just out of the kiln, my chunky sculpted vase has been designed to reminisce natural processes to express the beauty of clay and material used to embellish pottery. The vase has been built with earthwarestudios' own hand-made clay, using slabs and coils paddled into shape. Glazed on the inside to make sure the vase, if required, could double up as a jug as it was designed 😉 and finished with a chalky aesthetic on the outside.
Needless to say, it is foodsafe for all juices (all liquid).
