Lahore-Pakistan The Story of Zaha
One of my earliest memories is of my mother asking me for a glass of water. I remember taking out her best crystal wine glass, pouring in chilled water, putting it on a coaster on her Queen Ann tray and presenting it! My mom was so impressed she started my initiation in the art of good hou
sekeeping at the age of six!! From upholstery, room decoration, to table laying, menu setting and cleaning; I was trained by the best, my mother, along with our library of Betty Crocker, Martha Stewart and Madhur Jaffrey books. Every Eid and on my birthdays I would save all my money to decorate my room. From sunflowers, Ajrak to Moroccan dreams, hot pink fans to cool collages; each project was a dream for me. In time the whole house was handed over to me from interiors, events, gardening to meal planning. Studying home management and food and nutrition under the formidable Mrs. Cross at Convent Jesus & Mary really polished my skills and knowledge. I continued to cook and happily take care of my responsibilities for the next twenty eight years. In my fifteen year career in media I have often been approached to assist with office interiors and events. From planning mega events for multinationals to concept based events based on brand launches and experencials, I am passionate about executing the ‘big idea to the smallest details’. These days most events are very similar. The same guest list, the same flowers, the same DJ, the same handful of event managers. Clients are not encouraged to do events that are unique and truly capture the brand spirit. Parties and children’s birthdays are the same story. Clients are being made to spend excessively for events that have been done a million times. The peer pressure to stick to the herd is intense. Great spaces and events are all about energy and personality. At Zaha Home, we help you create experiences and interiors that are individualistic. Our aim is to compose themes that celebrate your history and our culture in an eclectic, contemporary way. We love mixing the old with the new. From heirlooms, vintage pieces to cool accent ones that speak to your soul, calming or energizing you. Curvy Couture
Yes I know. I understand the pain. For 36 years from a teenager, working woman, bride, mother-to-be and now an entrepreneur I have struggled to find stylish clothes in my size. It has been a painful but meaningful journey that has led me to explore many options. From working with my master jee designing my own wardrobe to ordering wildly online at plus-size stores. Always thinking i have to work harder to look good than the average woman. Slowly putting together my collection of designer outfits. Clothes that are often too expensive and designs that are not often the most flattering. Despite the increase in clothing retail outfits, new designers and tailoring options, the maximum size available in the market is 16. What about women with sizes 18, 20, 22, 24 or more? Half of the women visiting these stores watch on desolately as their thin friends go on a shopping spree! Some even end up buying clothes in sizes they dont fit in to avoid embarrassment. Women often end up buying clothes in colors, silhouettes and embellishment that are more suited to a smaller size. At ZAHA- we aim to to give the beautiful voluptuous You, the chance to shine and be yourself in an attire that showcases your best assets. We design your wardrobe and style you for what is most suited to your lifestyle.
