Shehr-e-Khamoshan began as a response to the need for a planned place of burial, but the vision was always to let it become something more over time.

What began as a cemetery was therefore imagined to continue beyond its original purpose a place where remembrance and nature quietly coexist. Hear more from the Architect.

For Koel’s new store at Dolmen Mall Lahore, the design was never about making a statement for the sake of it. Instead, the space was kept quiet, organic and easy on the eye allowing the craft, colour and materiality of Koel to take centre stage.

Geometric forms, crafted details, materiality, and carefully considered finishes come together to create a retail environment that carries the character of tradition without replicating it. The result is a space where craft, memory, and contemporary design find a natural continuity.

We often speak about buildings through their visible outcomes. But every project contains an invisible architecture of its own: the people, histories, aspirations and memories that give rise to the need to build in the first place.

A client brief, then, is rarely just a list of requirements. It is often a condensed expression of someone’s life.

To work with a person like Noor Jehan is to understand that the architect is not merely responding to a programme. They are listening, interpreting and translating. They are trying to understand what cannot always be measured: what must be remembered, what must be preserved, what must be allowed to evolve.

The resulting space for Koel at Dolmen Mall Karachi is therefore only one part of the story. The more important story is the conversation that preceded it.

For Generation at Lucky One, familiar architectural elements were reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Jalis, stained glass, rattan, and handcrafted inlays come together to create a retail space that feels rooted in memory while belonging to the present.

Generation has always drawn from the collective memory of Pakistan: our homes, our families, our crafts, our everyday rituals. So when we designed their spaces, the idea was to bring that same memory into the architecture.

What does a brand built on memory, culture, and everyday stories look like when you step inside it?

Designed around transparency, the illuminated interiors dissolve the boundaries between inside and out, allowing the concrete slabs to appear as suspended discs against the landscape.

The result is a farmhouse that feels grounded by day and almost weightless by night. Swipe to see the transformation.

How do you design a farmhouse that feels just as compelling in daylight as it does after sunset?

The answer lies in designing for the site, embracing constraints, and creating spaces that bring people together. Hear the architect share the story behind this contemporary farmhouse.

This modern farmhouse in Lahore is an exploration of the idea that architecture doesn't need excess to feel extraordinary.

Clean geometry, exposed concrete, generous glazing, and a carefully restrained material palette come together to create a home that is calm, confident, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
