Hello, homemaker!

If you’ve been wanting to try making bread at home but feel a little intimidated, homemade focaccia is a great place to start!

This recipe is easy, beginner-friendly, and best of all—there’s no kneading required. You get a soft, fluffy bread with those beautiful golden edges and little pockets that soak up all that delicious olive oil.

It’s one of those breads that looks impressive but is actually so simple to make at home.

Serve it alongside dinner, use it for sandwiches, or simply enjoy it warm dipped in olive oil.

If homemade bread is on your homemaking list, give this easy focaccia a try! DM for the recipe or visit my blog.

Lately, I’ve really been hooked on creating natural remedies at home so we can avoid relying so much on pharmaceuticals for every little thing. Now, just to be clear, I’m not a doctor and I don’t have any medical background. But I do believe there is real value in natural remedies, and in our home, I like them to be our first line of defense before turning to prescriptions whenever it makes sense.

One of my favorite things to make, especially when itchy throats and cough start making the rounds, is homemade natural cough drops with ginger, honey, lemon, and cinnamon.

Recipe below. It's easy to make!

I first made this Homemade Peppermint Salve last Christmas as one of the little projects for my 24 Days of Homemade Christmas, and I’m still using it to this day.

I’m a bit of a sucker for salves. I almost always have one or two tucked away in my purse. They’re just handy little things to have around.

This peppermint one is what I reach for when I want something minty but mild—especially when I have a mild headache or my nose feels a little clogged. I like to rub a small amount on my temples or just breathe in that fresh peppermint scent. It’s gentle, cooling, and relaxing without feeling too strong.

And of course, I love that it’s something I can make right at home.

If you love simple homemade remedies and old-fashioned homemaking projects, this is an easy one to add to your list.

I’ve been making homemade applesauce for a few years now.

My son has always loved applesauce, and it’s one of those simple foods that helps keep his bowel movements regular. But when we moved to the Philippines from Puerto Rico , I couldn’t find applesauce in our local grocery stores. So, like many things, I figured I’d just learn to make it myself.

It turns out, homemade applesauce is so easy to make. Just a few simple ingredients, a pot on the stove, and before long you have a batch of soft, naturally sweet applesauce.

Now I make it regularly and keep some in the fridge for my boy. It’s simple, homemade, and one less thing I need to search for at the store.

Sometimes the things we start making out of necessity end up becoming part of our everyday homemaking routine.

As much as I love baking for my family, I don’t always have the time or energy to pull out ten different ingredients every single time I want to make a simple cake loaf.

So I have a little homemaker secret.

I use the same homemade cake mix for many of my cake loaves!

It’s like having a universal cake mix that I keep ready, and then I can turn it into different flavors depending on what we’re craving. Vanilla loaf, banana cake, orange cake, dates and nuts cake, and lately, this bright and soft lemon cake recipe.

This lemon cake has quickly become one of our recent favorites. My son especially loves it. It’s citrusy, soft, tender, and just sweet enough without being too much. It’s the kind of cake that feels perfect with a cup of tea in the afternoon or served after supper when everyone wants “just a little something.”

And the best part? It’s wonderfully easy when you already have your homemade cake mix ready. Recipe in the comments.
