I used to think being an artist meant spending every waking moment creating 😅

Now, I think being an artist is paying attention.

It’s romanticizing your coffee shop visits, carrying a sketchbook everywhere, watching your favorite films, trying new things, resting when you’re burnt out, and allowing yourself to be curious.

Creativity isn’t something I wait for anymore. It’s something I make space for every day.

Here’s your reminder to live a life worth illustrating💜🫶🏼

We’ve been taught that if we’re truly passionate about something, we’ll always feel inspired to pursue it.

But passion isn’t a permanent state of being. It’s okay to get tired. It’s okay to need rest. It’s okay to take a step back.

The problem is that many of us mistake burnout, grief, or exhaustion for losing our passion, and end up giving up on the very things we love most.

I’ve left art many times in my life. And every single time, I’ve found my way back to it.

Maybe you don’t need to quit. Maybe you just need to rest.
