We offer interior design / decoration services and products for style- and socially-conscious people who want to create inviting living, work, or entertaining spaces. We provide design consultation services for those seeking guidance in how best to create beautiful, functional spaces that reflect their needs and personality. We specialize in sourcing beautiful hand-crafted products that allow our
clients to shop purposefully: supporting a range of East African cooperatives that provide skills training and dignified work for local artisans. We currently cater mostly to local clients (living / working in, moving to, or moving away from Rwanda), but plan to expand for export in due course. Have a look around, leave a note, and tell your friends! Also check back for regular updates of new designs and new product 'finds' ... and to follow our ongoing quest to find, curate, and create beautiful hand-crafted things.

"Sarah Day Designs creates the perfect combination of high quality locally produced interior decor and furniture. I had never been to a space that made African decor feel so luxurious while being functional. The furniture workmanship is what stood out the most, the finishing is impeccable."

"We searched high and low for a designer who could source the majority of things we needed for the office locally. The challenge was that every designer told us it was impossible and that everything we would get locally would be low quality, look horrible, and wouldn't last. Many of these designers relied on Kenyan, Ugandan, and sometimes even Chinese furniture to outfit offices in Kigali, but we wanted a more local feel. Furthermore we wanted to support local craftsmen and not have to spend a fortune to pay for outside shipping. She has built a strong network of proven craftsmen and she demands perfection. The president of our foundation was in shock when she saw the office for the first time. Everything was locally sourced and looked immaculate! Sarah went above and beyond to solve design problems and that is where she really thrives. She actually took all the things we liked on Pinterest and made them a reality even though many of them had never been done before in Rwanda. It wasn't just her can-do management style and design skills at work either. You realize quickly that she is involved as much as the people she manages. I watched as she weaved up light fixtures, formed elegant traditional basket murals, and walked carpenters step by step through the process of building furniture in Rwanda that they've never seen before. Sarah has an eye for this work and was upfront and honest about her pricing (which was far below any other designer we talked to). We gave her a huge blank slate and she created a masterpiece. She is truly one of the best designers you will find in Rwanda and I would dare say in East Africa. We have been told multiple times that our office is better than the design of some of the best luxury hotels in the region. She takes pride in her craft; it is evident in even the most minuet details of her designs. We can't say enough about her and refer her without the slightest reservation."
