Many years of art & design school (Otis Parsons) and working as an interior designer created my love of mixing old and new in a cool sophisticated eclectic way. It gives a space more personality, tells a story, and makes a room 'sing'. Seeing all the beautiful furniture in Sweden that go to waste when people want to redo their homes & buy new, inspired me……not to buy new, but to show how you can k
eep the old & be better off because of it! I felt compelled to start a business where you have the opportunity to buy some of these beautiful pieces of history, or just get ideas on how you can keep grandma's old cabinet in your home & still have a cool modern look. It's all in the mix, it's all in how you put it together. You need the contrast between the old & new to make a room come alive. I am also passionate about our planet. (Maybe that's what happens when you have kids - you want to leave this place a little bit better than when you came.) If we use some of the furniture we already have, we produce a little less = we save our environment. It's a win / win for us & our planet! A lot of older furniture is better built & better quality. They were made with less toxic glues & solvents, or if they had any, it has already evaporated. This means less toxins in your home to inhale - so also good for you & your family!! I have many more ideas on this topic, that I will introduce to you later. I save furniture that people discard and create beautiful places with a soul. Oh, did I mention that it is also really good for your wallet!! :-)
