Peace and scallops

Exploring the endless possibilities of AI visualisation.

Here’s the blue scallop rug I designed a year ago for with the idea in mind for a peaceful retreat from the urban noise. Later I built a story board curating all the details that served as an inspiration in the last few months. Being very cautious of using words like minimal’ (or ‘maximal’ for that matter).

Theres rattan, theres Jamini Roy like artwork, theres lime plaster finish, there is a ceiling fan (the white elephant of an asian interior design render), theres IPS flooring (not cement, IPS ♥️) wait! Theres also rajnigandha and fiddle fig - so…India meets Singapore 😬.

God is in details. Not all details will be accurate in this AI render, which is where your hands on skill and years of experience will come in handy to bridge the gap in real-time ex*****on.

Details from a project in Singapore where we collaborated to design and supply carved timber panels.

The carved panels are designed as inserts in the overall timber frames and portals - which addresses the logistical constrains while retaining the original intent of using hand-carved wooden structures found in havelis of western India.

teak reclaimed from 300 year old in was reused after careful treatment and finishing after which master artisans in Maharashtra spent hours meticulously carving the designs on to the panel.

Places come alive when they are built with pure intentions. ♥️

is clearly a labour of love, passion and care for food and being fed. And somewhere along the way, that sensibility is reflected in how spaces are created - meaningfully and much so affectionately.

The natural landscape is at the centre, and all else are only but mere props. It’s like being the supporting actors and the spectators to the Chef and his team’s directorial success.
