Life has been hectic and heavy the past few months — juggling three kids’ school schedules, managing my own work, and coping with the loss of my dad. Everything felt like a whirlwind, and for a while, it was really hard to sit back down at the sewing machine. My mind was tired, my heart was full, and creativity needed space I didn’t have.
For the longest time, I’ve been dreaming of sitting down in my little workspace, with a clear mind and enough energy, to finally start on a project that has been living in my heart — crafting my very own backpack. 💛
Most of you know me for my collection of kisslock bags, but let’s be real… I’m a mother of three. I need space. I need practicality. I need something that can hold at least three water bottles, diapers, wet wipes, snacks, random toys, and still leave room for my own essentials. And I still want a bag that looks like me — full of colour, personality and warmth.
After spending two whole weeks drafting the template, troubleshooting measurements, and levelling up my sewing skills, I finally took the plunge. This backpack took a lot of unpicking, resewing, rethinking and retrying. But every stitch taught me something. And today… I’m genuinely proud of how it turned out. ✨
This backpack feels like a milestone — equal parts motherhood, persistence, creativity, and identity. A bag that speaks “me.” I carried the backpack out recently and I’m so proud of it 🌝
I’m not quite ready to sell backpacks yet (they are no joke to make!), and pricing them cheaply will never do justice to the time, labour and learning poured into each one. But if you’re secretly wishing for a Psalm136bags backpack collection… hit me up with a message. Your support might just give me the push to launch one soon. 🌿💛
In the meantime, I am working on a new kisslock collection before the year ends! Stay tuned 🤫
