restful living in jeju
an original collection of art and living goods
by eden x hyemin

We first met Hyemin when we visited , a chocolate shop in Jeju. We asked about the paintings in the shop and were directed by the owner to visit the artist studio upstairs. For the first time ever in my life, I bought my first, original painting of a dog snuggled in its blanket. I turned the frame around and was so surprised to see that the painting is named “Rest”. She told me that she searched for happiness everywhere, only to find that it was beside her all along; so it was a moment that she wanted to hold on to. She then left me with the words, “당신도 곁에 가까이에 있는 행복을 자주 들여다 보세 요. 굿럭! Look into the happiness you have around you often. Good luck!”

I only returned to Jeju more than a year later, and we met by coincidence at a café we both visit often (it’s muusu!). I was really surprised and thankful that she remembered me. We met at the chocolate shop once more, & put pen to paper working on this collection together since the beginning of 2026. This is her first international collaboration, and I’m so so so excited to share her art with you.

Hyemin is an artist living in Jeju. She discovers value in the margins of daily life and ordinary objects, translating them into various textures and perspectives. She feels most free when walking across a blank canvas with honest lines and clear colours. And she hopes her finished scenes can become a small ‘home’ where someone can take a brief breath of rest.

About the collection
We had a shared vision of what comfort and rest meant to us. There are 3 original paintings, in which she captures different forms of rest through peaceful beings and gentle landscapes we encounter in daily life. Rest where it’s okay to do nothing, where we simply enjoy the things around, and rest that comes from the tranquility of being together.

The original paintings are available (price upon request), also as signed framed prints or posters in limited edition. There will also be an exclusive series of living goods — t-shirts, paperweights, and tapes — made in Korea only.

See you this weekend 🍃🌼

Chestnut Lamp

Gyeol 결 is a word in Korean that means “wood grain”, referring to the natural texture or expression of a material or object. Beyond its form, it’s also an expression that describes the intrinsic quality of a person — not in appearance, but the nature that runs through them.

Like how grain is developed over time, it is a record of life honestly lived. Objects made naturally and honestly carry this quality, and you’ll understand when you hold it in your hand.

It is this quality that we’re drawn to, and that we hope to carry into everything we make at Eden Eden. We believe the people and objects we surround ourselves with says something about who we are and how we choose to live.

Like everything in this world, we are always in the process of becoming. May we seek to live with an unhurried presence for the people and things we love. May we be drawn to things made well, who finds beauty not in first impressions but in everything that grows beautifully its own over time.

Lamps have always been our medium of expression. For a long time now, I found myself drawn to designing statement objects that will truly stay with you. Design that is meant to be inhabited, not merely admired.

Taking a classic and making it truly your own takes time, courage and design restraint. We’re so excited to share with you the Chestnut Lamp, our first design in a new collection of statement lamps (gyeol). A chestnut base carved from cherry or walnut is paired with a lampshade (in a classic or seasonal colour), made by .rising in different parts of Seoul, then assembled in Singapore. Made in 100% cotton fabric and 100% solid wood, every piece is hand carved and finished, with no two pieces are alike in grain and shape.

Made to last, may it carry the marks of age as it stays with you through the seasons, offering beauty that will only deepen as the days go by.

Launching first at , the lamp is available in 4 options, with baby blue and butter yellow being this season’s exclusive shades. See you there 🌰

Design Notes: 결

This is the first time I’ve penned down my design notes — inspiration, thoughts, considerations. Often, a design takes years in the making from a fleeting thought to reality, finding its form and purpose over time. I’ve compressed all of that into this post, in a bid to share openly and honestly the work that goes on behind the scenes. It’s work that I deeply enjoy, so I hope you’ll spend a moment reading it. Thank you for your interest, always.

Take a first look at the 결 (gyeol) series — a premium collection of statement lamps carved and finished by hand in Korea. 결 (gyeol) means wood grain in Korean — a word that describes the intrinsic quality and character of a person or object. It is an ode to the significance we place on quality of material, balance of form, and its weight. Like how grain is developed only by the passing of time, may this lamp find itself a sweet spot in your home too and accompany you through the seasons. It is truly, made to last.

boutiques gifting edition — candid moments shot by . great conversations, catching up with friends, some laughter and lots of fun, can’t wait to meet all of you again in May 🌼

last spring edition was also my dad’s last; today is his death anniversary. it’s been a year! like i’ve always said, he was a person who showed up everyday at his studio, rain or shine. his willingness to take on a day at a time, to do what he can within his means, and to be content, jovial and cheery despite his circumstances — that spirit has encouraged me daily and helped me to get through the year. i’ve to say, it is a great way to live.

thank you for showing up last edition with words of encouragement, couldn’t have done this without all of you! see you at the next ✨

Thankful to be featured by Tatler Asia as the founder of Eden Living. It has been a couple of fulfilling years learning, creating, dreaming up this brand on my own, with the support of my family, friends, and design partners based in South Korea.

Much of this journey has been self-taught, out of necessity. I was brimming with ideas I wanted to put pen to paper, so I learnt design on my own. I had my own vision of how the lamps and objects are to be styled, so I learnt photography and decided to travel to Korea myself to do the photoshoots. I was so curious about the lives of my design partners that I’ve met them in person when in Jeju, becoming friends along the way. Our friendship and shared understanding form the foundation of the collections we’ve launched over the years.

I learnt along the way what it looks like to design meaningfully and sustain a brand in today’s retail landscape. This wouldn’t be possible without the Boutiques team, who has been committed to supporting designers and brands from day one.

A huge thank you to Nafeesa, who listened to our story with great care and intention. I’m thankful also that she honoured my late dad, and the time we spent on Hands Design together as a family from 2020 - 2025. Those years shaped me fundamentally into who I am today, and how I see the world.

Eden Living is ultimately my life’s work, and I’d say that this is just the beginning. I hope to continue in the spirit of my dad’s passion for his craft and zest for life. Thank you for your support, always, especially if you’ve been around since the beginning ✨

This lamp makes every photograph, every postcard, feel even more special. A magnetic board and lamp, we designed it to look and feel like a photograph frame that can be mounted on the wall or placed on your desk. It is rechargeable and portable too. We hope it will add joy to your everyday living.

With a complex production process and fine design details to get right, we do our best to grant it the care and attention it deserves. Sold out at launch, we’re opening a preorder and we’re also working towards making it a part of our original collection. ✨

2026 • Garden

Hello, how is everyone doing? Time flies; January has come to a close while I’m still thinking about my favourite season of the year, Christmas. That aside, I’m ready for 2026 and what it’ll bring; sharing a little note here on Garden and what it signifies for the path ahead. Thought deeply about what to do (and not to do) this year while in Jeju in the first week of January, and found renewed purpose in our steps.

Also, we celebrated 3 years of Eden Living, 10K followers, the opening of our select shop in Serangoon Gardens, new designs and many more milestones without fanfare. So as a tribute to our journey and all that is to come this year, we will be doing a little giveaway as our way of saying thank you. Not done a giveaway since forever, and can’t wait to begin our rewards programme later this year, which many of you have asked for a long time.

Also, this is just the beginning of what is to come, so stay with us ✨

Giveaway / gift card worth $180, to 2 of you

To do / Follow ; have a think, and comment what you’ll be tending to in your garden this year, then tag one person whom you know will be there with you along the way.

Will personally select the winners whom I’d like to encourage this season 🍓

Giveaway ends on 8 February, Sunday, 11.59PM SGT and the gift card will be sent digitally to you.

Sincerely,
Cassandra
