Our first meal in Jeju, right off the red eye flight, to this popular restaurant specialising in stews. Soothing soupy umami goodness! Around 8am and already number 80 in the queue!

The Hubs found this place while researching through a few of YouTube videos. Not the typical Korean dishes we see in Singapore. Just what we needed after an overnight flight.

Chiang Mai… Scored a reservation slot at Rasik Local Kitchen .chiangmai. Bustling small restaurant, 2 seatings. We had spicy vegetables (not in the pictures), grilled beef tongue, grilled beef finger ribs, fried rice with prawns, pork collar red curry, charcoal grilled golden snapper, and grilled bone marrow.

We had a great time! Food was delicious, love the vibes of this cosy modern Thai restaurant helmed by Chef Wai . Our favourites were the beef tongue, smokey char but pink inside. Fried rice had enough Wok Hei, and large juicy prawns on top. Simple seasoning but so SO DELISH! The curry was perfect! Rich, but not jelat! Wish I had me some white rice to soak up that gravy… but it was just too much carbs this whole trip.

Thank you Chef for the hospitality and the wine recommendation.

Can’t wait to get back home, cook us some new dishes inspired by our time in North Thailand. Certainly some ideas for next IndoChine menu in Q3.

Went back to Alberta centre for more shopping and had this Yong Tau Fu again. This time I ordered the dry version which they serve with Kueh (broad kway teow with Chee Cheong Fun feels). Well balanced YTF sauce and a garlic chilli! 😋😋😋 The YTF selection was a Hakka style version with mince pork and prawns, well made, springy and tasty. Soup was light and flavourful, generous with spring onions and crispy shallots.
